Brittany Murphy's Father Angelo Bertolotti Sues Los Angeles Coroner's Office

Two years after actress Brittany Murphy's shocking death at the age of 32, her parents continue to battle with authorities over just what happened. In the latest development, Murphy's father, Angelo Bertolotti, has filed suit against the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, according to Radar Online, in an effort to gain access to hair samples in the department's possession.

Bertolotti disputes the coroner's ruling that Murphy died from pneumonia and anemia, and believes that testing the samples will prove him right.

The "Uptown Girls" actress's husband, Simon Monjack, discovered her body inside their Hollywood Hills home on Dec. 20, 2009. Just five months later, Monjack died -- also as a result of pneumonia and anemia, according to the coroner.

Last month, Murphy's mother, Sharon Murphy, sued her former lawyers for legal malpractice, according to the UK's Daily Mail. Sharon was reportedly interested in naming the builders of the home in which Murphy died in a wrongful death suit, but her lawyers urged her to settle instead.

Ummm, so two relatively young people have died of the exact same thing months apart and no officials are trying to figure out why? I am not for frivolous lawsuits or jumping to conclusions, but what is the actual real-life scenario the authorities are peddling? Coincidence?

Ok people. I liked Murphy's work. She was good. But there are certain facts that many of you can't seem to accept. These are facts. They are not opinion.
1) Corner's report listed "multiple drug intoxication, pneumonia and iron deficiency anemia" with pneumonia and anemia as primary causes.
2) Both had histories of drug abuse.
3) Pneumonia and Anemia are considered by the AMA to be possible signs - SYMPTOMS - of drug abuse.
4) Murphy's mother's attorney's advised against pursuing the lawsuit against the home builders for the mold claim. Not because they were part of a conspiracy, but because they are professionals and they understood the claim was a loser - groundless and unprovable.

Those are facts. Stop arguing. I understand that you are angry that a star whom you never actually met died. I understand that you want to blame someone or something other than the star whom you never actually knew. But facts are facts. Nothing about your opinion changes the facts: Their pattern of substance abuse either directly or indirectly contributed to their deaths. There is no one to blame, There is no way to avoid the truth. Stop arguing.

I know...it's always the same "oh, but they were drug addicts, and addicts always die..." which really shows just how ignorant and inexperienced many people actually are.

It is very suspicious that two people unrelated to each other died of the same cause and if I were her parents, I would do the same thing, seek the truth. The facts that you dictate above are kind of lame at best for giving a cause of death. They are not facts, but possibilities and speculations. I was not a big fan of hers, I just find it very odd that they both died so close together and for supposedly the same reasons. Any reasonable person would question it.

I really enjoyed Brittany Murphy on screen...on way or another she always surprised me. Like discovering in Happy Feet that she was a powerful singer. I really hope they can get closure on what happened to her. Her death has never really sat right with her fanbase.

Wait..I didn't know that he also died of 'pneumonia and anemia'. THAT is weird! How often does that happen to a young person x's two in 5 months time? Hmmm....I think maybe there was something going on in that apt., house, whatever they lived in. Maybe some gases they both inhaled, because that's just too weird and coincidental unless they both had late stage Aids which I highly DOUBT very much.

Weird.

There really is no mystery here. Only grief stricken and guilt ridden parents trying desperately to find someone - anyone - to blame for the tragedy.
