'Friends With Kids' Trailer: Jennifer Westfeldt, Adam Scott, Jon Hamm Star In Romantic Comedy (VIDEO)

Jon Hamm & Girlfriend Scramble Relationships In Her Directorial Debut

For a directorial debut, Jennifer Westfeldt is working with a pretty great cast. It helps to have some good friends in Hollywood.

Westfeldt wrote, directs and stars in "Friends with Kids," in which she and Adam Scott play best friends who, unable to find longterm relationships and wanting a child, decide to conceive and raise one together in a platonic relationship. Their decision seems like the right one at first, given the horrors that befall their newly married friends. Maya Rudolph and Chris O'Dowd play one couple, while Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm play the other. Megan Fox and Edward Burns also feature in the film.

The film provides a number of twists on both recent Hollywood films and real life relationships. Westfeldt is the longtime girlfriend of "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm. In fact, she was famous far before he became a sensation with his AMC drama. But she's with Adam Scott, his best friend in real life, in this film, while he is with Kristen Wiig -- the woman whom he dumped in "Bridesmaids." And speaking of that hit comedy, Wiig's best friend in that film (and real life), Rudolph, is married in "Friends with Kids" to the man that Wiig eventually ends up with in "Bridesmaids."

If it sounds confusing, don't worry -- the trailer cleans it up, and adds a whole lot of laughs.
