4 Things Not To Discuss With Co-Workers

SavvySugar:

Friendships with your co-workers are inevitable - and a great way to connect to your workplace - but it's important to set a few conversation boundaries. Avoid these four topics to maintain a sense of professionalism and keep your office relationships work-appropriate.

1. Dollars and cents: It's no secret that salary talk should be avoided, but it's not just paychecks that ought to remain private. Debt, mortgage, and loans - yours or anyone else's - are a personal concern, and if money matters come up, the best thing to do is sidestep the subject and steer the conversation elsewhere.

quick question for women. I had to take a 2 hour car ride with a female co-worker and she started a conversation about problems with her menstrual cycle. She's married but she has a well documented history of cheating on her husband ( for which someone got fired for). She hugs me for doing trivial tasks that I would do for any other co-worker.

Now I'm happily married so it makes me a little uncomfortable. It seems like flirting to me only the menstrual thing throws my radar off because it's slightly gross. do i need to stay away from this chick or am I being irrational? My tiny man brain cannot tell.

Does she hug other people for trivial things? She may just be weird and huggy. If it's just you, tell her to back off.

No politics, either. I've listened to enough angry political diatribes at work to fill a lifetime.

I like all four matter of fact. # 4 is one I like the most. I don't care to share my sex life with other people at work or hear about other peoples sex life.
