Piracy is a lie. Copying something is not stealing it. The owner loses nothing. Just because you have an idea profits from threats of violence and at the point of guns is not a right, it is immoral.

When old geezer lawmaker with no basic understanding of the mechanics of the internet tries to do something lobbyists tell him to do, what can possible go wrong?

His apparent ignorance on the very matter he tries to meddle with is infuriating. The only thing that needs more study is how to get rid of him and his ilk.

Woohoo! This is fantastic news... you know you're on the right side of the issue when both Anonymous and US senators now agree. We must now improve our infrastructure to attain Google Kansas City speeds... this way we can stop paying a monthly internet bill as well. No more nagging monthly fees and all the free movies, games, tv shows, software, adult entertainment, books, magazines, music that you can download or stream at will. By the way, this will in no way effect the economy... having thousands of hours of intellectual property at my disposal will not effect my desire to consume in the slightest. It will make me buy a nice snowboard, or better rims...or better... ahh, what am I saying, I guess it will make me spend a little less.... but it's all instant gratification and why worry about it now. Everything for free... woohoo!!

Anybody who was involved with the creation of SOPA must go. Anybody who voted for NDAA or signed it into law must go. They have just proposed a law that the American people will not have access to the studies financed by our government. All of these laws can only be used for diabolical purposes worthy of comparisons to the infamous Mr. H. of WW2 and his efforts to keep power and oppress people. Yes, it can only be compared to that!

Hopefully they will "more study" it to death like they have done to climate change.

Leahy needs "more study" to find out what the media industry lobbyists--one of the largest group of lobbyists in Washington, something you don't hear about in the media for some reason-- want him to do.

Yeah, Leahy and "other senators" wrote this bill. We all know it was written by the movie and music industry lackeys and handed off to the Senators to enact. Like any of those old crones would know enough about the internet to write the bill.

Democrat senator Leahy came out of the mothballs - w his latest screwball idea -

that "needs further study".

Democrats always devise their secret legislation mischaracterized as one thing - to the American people - but is something entirely different.

"More study" needed.

Translation: They are on to us! The gig is up! Let's lay low for now until the smoke clears and ask for more lobbying money before trying this again.

Chuck Schummer - who received some $2.5 million from the SOPA lobbyists - REFUSED to meet his constituents venting their grievances on this issue. His office manager allegedly stated that
Chuck Schummer's office "does not care" for the issue".

He cares enough to take the money. Alas, he does not care to meet the people who voted for him.

Easy! All his constituents need to do is come up with 2.5 million and he will meet with them. Our congressmen have an open vault door policy.

His constituents soon won't have anything to eat, let alone come up with $2.5 mil, because Chuckie's big friend Mikey "Fire-em'-all" Bloomberg has fired just about the entire city and left thousands of families at the edge of starvation.

His constituents should refuse to vote for him. Term limits are starting to sound like a very good idea. Congress needs to be cleared out of these entrenched politicians that are beholden to so many special interests. We need to one up Citizens United by outlawing lobbying & corporate financing of politics.

Indeed. Term limits were always a good idea, but the fake-libs (NY times and co) sold everyone on the idea that the same person being reelected for life while taking billions in lobby money is somehow the essence of freedom and democracy.

The absurd thing is that Anthony Weiner - who was a monument of integrity compared to this $kunk - had to be sacrificed because of some silly "scandal" while this specimen - who is much more scandalous than anything Weiner had done - remains in the office to "represent" (sic) us.
