'The Killing' Season 2: Rosie Larsen's Murder Will Be Solved By Finale

'The Killing': Will Rosie's Murder Finally Be Solved?

The murder of Rosie Larsen, the central storyline in AMC's "The Killing" that wasn't solved in the first season, will not be solved until the end of Season 2, according to Written By magazine. "The Killing" showrunner and head writer Veena Sud told the magazine that the show did not intend to rile fans.

"Our intent was not to mislead or betray," Sud told the magazine. "We talked about the fans, and their passion, and all of the stuff that was being said on the internet. But the bottom line is, we close the door and we're a bunch of people in the room, and our job was, and continues to be, to tell the story that feels right by us."

However, fans couldn't help but feel betrayed, including including The Huffington Post's TV critic Maureen Ryan.

"It wasn't just a bad ending to a poorly constructed, sloppy, disappointing season," Ryan wrote of "The Killing's" Season 1 finale. "It was a jaw-dropping instance of a show not just squandering its promise, but betraying its viewers. The tone-deaf arrogance of the writers and executives responsible for 'The Killing' is simply astonishing. And depressing, if you're a fan of quality television."

"The Killing" Season 1 debuted to favorable reviews and solid ratings (2.7 million viewers) for a cable network. The buzz continued and the show picked up six Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.

Season 2 of "The Killing" kicks off this spring, no official date has been set.
