'Parks & Recreation': Candidate Leslie's First Public Event Is A Heartfelt Disaster (VIDEO)
It was a moment of heartfelt joy and community when the team at the Parks Department rallied behind Leslie and said they would help her run her campaign on "Parks & Recreation" (Thu., 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC). But that euphoria only lasted a few moments as they quickly realized they had no idea what they were doing.
Leslie picked Ann as her campaign manager, and everyone had assignments toward making her first big public rally a huge success. They even secured an appearance by a former local sports hero to endorse Leslie and recreate his famous slam dunk. But when it all came together, they quickly realized that none of it had come together. In fact, Jerry was the only one who came through for Leslie, though after seeing that nothing else did, the gang was of course mad at him for doing his job.
The results speak for themselves, as a dramatic entrance is cut short quite literally by a red carpet that isn't long enough. The basketball court was iced over for hockey, so the inevitable shuffle to the too-small podium in front of the awkwardly cropped banner ... well, it was everything that could go wrong for her campaign going wrong.
Meanwhile, Chris went to check up on Ben and found him mired in a depression he didn't even realize he was in. He'd created an epic claymation film -- albeit shorter than this clause -- and a great new restaurant idea. It all came together for the best when Leslie realized she needed Ben as her campaign manager, as he had experience in this. And Ben desperately needs something to do.
Watch the campaign unfold on "Parks & Recreation" every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
