Tim Tebow, Katy Perry To Date? Singer's Mom Wants To Set Her Up With Broncos QB
Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow was recently voted as the celebrity neighbor that Americans would most like to have next door. Among those folks who apparently wouldn't mind the 24-year-old Tebow living next door is Katy Perry's mother. The pop star who sang "The Girl Next Door" is fresh off a highly-publicized split from actor and comedian Russell Brand. Nevertheless, OK! Magazine reports that Perry's mom, Mary Hudson, is hoping to introduce her soon-to-be divorcee daughter to Tebow.
The devoutly Christian NFL star has garnered attention for his relentlessly positive attitude, unshakeable faith and humble dealings with the media. After orchestrating a thrilling overtime win over the favored Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL playoffs, even those not interested in his religiosity or positivity are being forced to admit that he's a pretty good quarterback. According to OK!., Perry's mom believes that "Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter. He's handsome, charming, intelligent and above all, a good Christian."
Perry's mom reportedly invited Tebow to speak at a church in Huntington Beach, California that the family used to attend ibn hopes of arranging a meeting between the single signal caller and the starlet. Despite her penchant for risque attire, the buxom pop star began her career as a Christian singer and both her parents are pastors. Shortly after Perry's divorce, the Hudsons told a larger-than-usual crowd at their church in Ohio that their daughters trouble had been God's way of bringing more people out to the service.
Tebow had previously been rumored to be dating Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. Coincidentally, Vonn was also fresh off a divorce announcement as those rumors swirled. While Vonn eventually claimed that her and Tebow were merely friends and Perry has seemingly yet to even meet Tebow, whatever young lady finds themselves in a relationship with the quarterback will have make sure that they have no problems dating a virgin. According to Cosmopolitan, though, that shouldn't be a problem for Tebow. Among the women surveyed by Cosmo, 80 percent indicated they would date a virgin and nearly 50 percent said they would be respectful of a male partner who wanted to wait for marriage before sex.
As of Friday morning, readers at HollywoodLife.com weren't optimistic that a Tebow-Perry pairing would work out, with voters in a poll voting approximately 60/40 that any relationship would not last.
Who knows if Tebow will ever make it out to Katy's church or if the two would get along but the Broncos' QB surely won't be disuaded by those odds. After all, Steelers were eight point favorites last weekend and he took care of them.
