Golden Globes 2012 Trends: Nude Dresses Conquer The Red Carpet (PHOTOS, POLL)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/15/2012 9:46 pm Updated: 01/16/2012 9:29 am

Colored dresses definitely lost the popularity contest at tonight's Golden Globes.

From Charlize Theron to Heidi Klum, nude dresses were all the rage as stars strutted down the red carpet in beige Reem Acras and Zac Posens.

So much tan! We couldn't help but get deja vu from last year's red carpet, which also featured a bevy of neutral gowns -- Anne Hathaway's Armani Prive comes to mind.

The red carpet wasn't completely devoid of color, thanks to Zooey and Reese.

But still, ladies: we'd much prefer to see you brighten things up a bit.

Check out our gallery below of all the nude gowns from the 2012 Golden Globes and weigh in: do you still like the netural trend, or are you totally over it?

Julie Bowen looked very pretty in her Reem Acra dress. Also Madonna and Angeliina Jolie and the girl in the long yellow gown...

Amy Poehler looked great.
She was glammed out and comfortable, which isn't easy to do.

All the same color? (or lack of it)
Amazing that there are that many women totally without any originality as re: who they are.

I don't care for the nude gowns at all. I was noticing several gorgeous blue gowns on the red carpet. Those were beautiful!

I agree with you here. Nude as a dress color was downright boring and it does not matter how beautiful those women are.....

You can't say all these dresses are boring. Jessica Biel's is highly unattractive and she could have done her hair, but Kate Beckinsdale's is gorgeous. It is all in how you wear it, except for the crazy and silly design of the first dress on Charlize Theron. It was a real mess.

The contrast in color is more apparent here, but when I initially saw Heidi Klum on TV, it was only her upper chest and face and I thought she was wearing a turquoise necklace and a plunging neckline. Nude is a hard look to pull off, it can be very flattering or wash you out. Really depends on your complexion.

Think Michelle Williams actually does it best, she makes a statement without a "wierd" look. Just so wonderful to nsee her do that.!

Look How Michelle Williams can have the spotlight without her thighs hanging out & all the extra tons of materials, etc, etc! She is a fascination how she has these abilities!
