Sarah Hyland Wardrobe Malfunction: Golden Globes Red Carpet Mishap! (VIDEO)

It wouldn't be a high-profile red carpet without a wardrobe malfunction. Tonight at the 2012 Golden Globes, the mishap came care of Sarah Hyland, the adorable "Modern Family" actress.

Hyland's little accident came to light, of course, by the super-sleuths that are the E! correspondents. "I'm laughing," Giuliana said, "because I saw your zipper break on the red carpet! And I was like, 'E! Send a camera right over there!' "

But of course the impossibly charming Hyland took it in stride. "I kind of just felt an explosion in my back," she said, and her dress started to fall. But luckily she kept her simple zipper malfunction from turning into a much-feared nip slip. "I grabbed [my dress] before it was too late."

"You are so tiny -- there is no reason a zipper should ever explode on you," Giuliana cried with wonder. Sarah mused that maybe it was too much McDonald's that did the trick.

Please, we beg of you, Sarah: do not go on a diet.

"Vintage Dolce and Gabbana" LOL I'm sorry but just because something isn't brand new doesn't make it vintage. Dolce and Gabbana has only been around since the late 80's and that dress was probably made in the last 5 years. It was designed with a retro feel but it isn't really a vintage piece. It's like a few years ago when Reese Whitherspoon wore a "vintage" dress to the Golden Globes and it turned out the dress was only 2 years old and Kirsten Dunst had already worn the same one on the red carpet.

These fake wardrobe malfunctions to get attention are getting boring. It used to be called a publicity stunt. Now we are supposed to believe it is a real event.

I don't think this was faked at all, and why would a dress breaking be used for publicity? It's not as if she flashed everybody or anything like that, her dress broke and they fixed it.

Huffpo must think it's readers are all 13 year olds, desperate for a peek at boobs.

Yes, cute, clever and kind. A real nice human being for complimenting the correspondent from E. Not too many stars do that--notice someone as a real person and say something nice. Speaks well of her and her upbringing.

Judging by the comments on here, folks can be really catty about celebrities. She may not be an A-lister, but it was a cute little story, and this site has plenty of room to cover them all.

No name actress. For one, she's a kid, and second, she's on an enormously popular sitcom. Catty much are you?

They wear their clothes so tight they can't breathe. One burp or fart and the zipper rips.

It isn't a 'wardrobe malfunction'. It's a busted zipper. Zippers have been busting since their invention.

Please cut-out the b.s. lingo and get real.

Real slow. Zipper part of wardrobe. Broken Zipper = malfunction. Broken zipper is a wardrobe malfunction. Get real indeed.

That sure was a lot of contrived justification for a busted zipper.
05:05 PM on 01/16/2012
I think Y Woodman Brown meant that it isn't a "wardrobe malfunction" in the Janet Jackson, Tara Ried letting your breasts show in public and claiming it is an accident the way the term has been used for the past decade.

You know, actually, it isn't. A thing malfunctions before it breaks. A malfunctioning zipper is actually one that still work but has some kind of problem going up or down.

This woman had a broken zipper. It busted. She needed her dress stitched-up.

(Yes, I actually think things through before I post.)
