The co-hosts of "Morning Joe" were disappointed by the news of Jon Huntsman's withdrawal from the GOP race on Monday.
Huntsman recently placed third in the New Hampshire primary, after spending significant time and resources in the state. He is expected to officially drop out of the race and endorse Mitt Romney on Monday morning.
Scarborough, a former Republican congressman, has spent time on-air dismissing the temporary success of the race's numerous frontrunners, but praised Huntsman's conservative record.
On Monday, Scarborough called Huntsman's struggle to gain momentum the "great irony" of the Republican race. "I hate to see it cause he is one of the few true conservatives in the race," he said. "We are now left with big government conservatives."
"I thought he would've really added to the conversation," co-host Mika Brzezinski agreed. Watch their exchange about the former candidate in the clip above.
