Crow 'Snowboards' On Snowy Rooftop In Russia (VIDEO)

Crow Snowboards

It seems snowboarding isn't just for humans anymore. Turns out birds know how to have some winter fun, too.

In this astonishing footage posted on YouTube by Russia Today, a crow climbs on a round disc and slides down a rooftop in Russia.

After a solid first run, the bird's second attempt is somewhat disappointing. But without delay, the crow clutches the "board" and tries again.

The Telegraph notes the video is timely because Europe has received a good deal of snowfall in recent weeks.

According to The Huffington Post UK, the crow has become an internet phenomenon after YouTube user penelopakristi's one and only video "Crow roof tubing" was picked up by Reddit earlier this week.

Some other entertaining winter animal videos include giant pandas tumbling in the snow and polar bears bonding with dogs.

In Russia, what's a crow to do
To pass the winter months so bleak.
Snow and ice ev'rywhere - tiz true.
So find fun with them - so to speak.
For me a jar lid is a sled.
Take it to a roof top with slant,
And turn it to a place instead,
Where a bird can slide to enchant.
People gawk at wonders I give,
And of course then need to film me,
To give purpose to those who live
Glued to the Web what next will be.

The Web is watching this here crow.
Get a life people - doncha know!

I could be wrong but I think that this crow was just trying to eat that thing it was standing on and it just kept taking it to the top of the roof to get out of the snow.

Animals are a lot smarter than humans give them credit for. It wasn't long ago that they thought humans were the only species that used tools. WRONG!

I wonder if the crow saw a human child playing and tried to mimic her? We really aren't so far apart from our animal brothers and sisters.

Crows and/or Ravens are known to be very smart. (This is not to imply that Crows and Ravens are the same.) Odd looking bird though. Perhaps a mix of Pigeon? Seriously, perhaps a different strain.

That's actually a jackdaw, a cousin of the crow.
