Whoever said local news reports were dull obviously hasn't been watching during the right times. We're talking, of course, about the inevitable bloopers.
Luckily, there are folks out there who scour the network affiliates for the funniest FAILS, pranks, mishaps and other surprises that pop up during the morning or evening news reports and upload them to YouTube for our enjoyment.
This time, the blooper involves a rogue piece of equipment that appears to want some camera time of its own. And while the anchor obviously knew something was going to happen, his reaction just before the mishap is hilarious.

Oh god... I was laughing so hard the tears were rolling. I suspect that video's been floating around the internet forever by now, but I just saw it for the first time. Funniest thing I've seen all week.

This is my local sports announcer and he has more trouble than the rest of the staff there. He is sharp and funny and knows his stuff. But evidently not his machinery. Maybe computers are taking over.

Small stations like this (and even some big ones) are now automated to reduce staff. That camera was likely programmed ahead of time to move to that position (there's no live camera operator). Some studios, I kid you not, even have the anchors use foot pedals under the desk to scroll their own teleprompters.
