Sean Combs Empress Lawsuit Has Diddy In Trouble: Report

Puffy's Perfume Problem

Puffy's got a perfume problem.

Sean Combs, the King of Celebrity Fragrances (Jennifer Lopez, of course, is the Queen), has been hit with lawsuit for his Empress fragrance, which launched this past summer.

As AllHipHop News reports, Combs is being sued by Empress Hair Care, which claims that the rapper-cum-businessman ignored its trademark on the name and used it for his women's perfume anyway.

The lawsuit, filed in a U.S. District Court in New York, alleges that a representative from Sean John contacted Empress Hair Care and requested they give up the trademark in exchange for money.

Despite Empress refusing to hand over ownership of the name, Sean John went ahead and used it for the brand's new fragrance line and even snagged former Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland as its face.

Now, writes the New York Daily News, Empress Hair Care is suing for infringement of a federally registered trademark as well as unfair competition.

This probably wasn't included in the lawsuit, but Sean Combs also went ahead and defined what makes a woman an empress -- watch the video below. Click over to AllHipHop.com for more on Puffy's legal troubles
