Following Josh Rubin's Murder, Whisk Bakery Cafe In Ditmas Park Selling Contents

Whisk Bakery Cafe in Ditmas Park is having a one-day only sale this Saturday in order to sell all the cafe's assets -- including everything from kitchen supplies to ceiling fans (the Craigslist ad here).

The sale follows the mysterious murder of owner Josh Rubin, who went missing and was last seen on October 31, prompting New York City officials to investigate a missing persons report to track Rubin's whereabouts.

On November 1, investigators near Allentown, Pennsylvania uncovered the body of a man who had apparently been shot and burned to death. A private investigator was soon hired, and a DNA test eventually identified the body as Rubin's.

Ditmas Park residents held a memorial service earlier in January, where community members urged people to remember Rubin as a person, not the way he died.

Ditmas Park Blog remembers Rubin as a "positive member of our community" and has publicized the upcoming sale, which will take place this Saturday, January 21 from 10AM-3PM.
