Gretchen Carlson, Jerry Springer Clash Over Fox News' Obama Coverage (VIDEO)

Talk show host and former Mayor of Cincinnati Jerry Springer appeared on Fox News' morning show on Wednesday, and got into a tiff with "Fox and Friends" host Gretchen Carlson.

Carlson moderated a panel on Newsweek's controversial cover story, "Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?" Springer praised the article and defended Obama's accomplishments. Springer also told Carlson that he thought it was "a little disingenuous" for Fox News to "complain" that "Newsweek may be a little partisan."

"Yeah they have a pretty good track record with that," Carlson said. She added that the article's author, Andrew Sullivan, was the "the same person who tried to start that whole conspiracy about Sarah Palin's Down syndrome son, and whether or not it was actually her child. So take that into note."

Later in the segment, Carlson went back to Springer to comment, though he seemed more focused on discussing Fox News than the Newsweek. Speaking to Carlson, Springer said, "We're here on Fox News, every single day you guys bash President Obama."

"I'm going to take you to task on that because on this panel right here, we have a fair and balanced panel right here," Carlson said.

"What about the rest of the show...Every single morning you guys are slamming Obama. You know you are," Springer said.

Carlson wrapped up the panel by telling Springer more about the show. "By the way Jerry," Carlson said. "You obviously don't watch our show, because you do not understand that there's a reason, I'll speak for myself, I sit in the middle as the independent on the panel, and quite frankly, we present both sides of the story, and we leave it up to our viewers to decide where they fall."

I'm NOT a fan of Jerry Springer's show in the least. Let's get that straight. BUT - the fact that this show even exists confirms, for ME at least, the "Freedom of Speech" concept that was adopted by those brilliant founding fathers who wrote and signed the Declaration of Independance and the U.S. Constitution ! That idea was so WAY ahead of its time. I don't remember which "founding father" it was - maybe Ben Franklin - who said "I may disagree with what you have to say but I'll defend to my death your right to say it". That quote in a nutshell demonstrates how and why Jerry Springer and fools like him can exist and I support that concept. I do NOT support Jerry Springer but that's why we have remotes to change the channel, eh ? "JerRY, JerRY, JerRY,

It is always a pity when a good cause is supported by a person who has no decency. Springer exploits and revels in people's bad behavior. He makes me sick and I wish he wouldn't try to make out that he is something which he isn't. If you could scrape the bottom of the human barrel that is where you would find Springer. The Dems don't need his support because it is a liability.

Fox News has always been one of the GOP instruments in proliferating their ignorant propaganda - doesn't matter how many words or how they say them to try and convince me otherwise. Jerry has a point - Obama may not be the perfect President, but he's done a HELL of alot better job that George W did and they NEVER give him credit for anything - everything is always about "how can we twist this to make Obama look bad"! Until the Republicans figure out that their precious conservative majority has dwindled and start taking the MAJORITY of the American people's opinions into consideration - they will NOT get back into that office. We're onto their manipulative, dishonest tricks. (Btw, I'm an Independent).
