At the rate Ann Taylor goes through celebrities, you'd think it was casting for some VH1 reality show.
But no, just shooting their ad campaigns. The classic women's retailer, maker of your mom's favorite navy blazer and sensible shift dress, has landed Kate Hudson as its newest face.
The blonde star, who just gave birth to baby Bingham this summer, poses for photographer Tom Munro in some pretty lace dresses for Ann Taylor's spring campaign. She spoke of her new brand affiliation via news release, saying:
"I love fashion, and their new Spring collection is so stylish and hip and colorful! As a young girl I looked up to the sophisticated style of Ann Taylor so it’s been very cool to see how the brand has evolved to meet the changing needs of modern women."
Sounds all right to us. The colors are "hip" (we see, Ann! You're embracing neon!) and the silhouettes look lovely, just as they have on Ann Taylor's long list of past celebrity faces including Demi Moore, Katie Holmes, Heidi Klum, Naomi Watts and Milla Jovovich.
And yet somehow we're still not moved to hit up the nearest Ann Taylor when spring shopping rolls around. It makes us wonder if any amount of famous names truly alter Ann's reputation as a staid emporium for safe, office-ready clothes for sensible career women and/or mothers.
