Anti-SOPA Blackout: The Funniest Tweets (SLIDESHOW)

Sure, today's massive SOPA protest blackout sounded like a good idea in theory. For one day, thousands of popular sites across the Internet would shut down to demonstrate what the Internet could look like if congress passes the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP (PIPA), proposed bills that would give law enforcement authority to shut down websites as part of an effort to protect copyrights.

But that was before sites like Wikipedia joined the anti-SOPA crusade, stowing away millions of articles and facts needed for everyday Internet survival. Without access to their favorite sites, many users turned to Twitter to filled the void, sharing their thoughts about the protest and making up Wikipedia facts under their own under the hashtag #factswithoutwikipedia.
