Producers had a pretty intense week planned for the contestants on "The Biggest Loser" (Tue., 8 p.m. EST on NBC), with head-to-head face-offs on the scale scheduled for the weigh in. But almost immediately after Cassandra won the Temptation and selected the pairings for that face-off, one contestant decided it was enough.
The Temptation was a huge spread of Chinese food. The team that ate the most calories could choose the face-off pairs, and gain a two-pound advantage to the person who ate the most. If teams tied or no one ate, then they would automatically face off against their loved ones. Somehow, the Red Team was so afraid of backsliding that they didn't touch the food, so Cassandra won with two fortune cookies (60 calories) consumed.
The most notable pairing, as it turned out, was the one Cassandra chose for herself. While she's been making waves for her attitude since Week One, Conda emerged full throttle as the "villain" of the season. She's also the Queen of Excuses in this season of "No Excuses." She had one for why Cassandra beat her in a friendly challenge in the gym, and then another one when she got beat on the scale as well. At least previews for next week show Dolvett finally laying into her for her bad attitude.
But if Conda was the Queen of Excuses, then Joe was the King. He lost his brother last week -- like he was talking to him anyway -- and missed his family. Everyone misses their family. But it was too much for Joe, who snuck out under the cover of night. Bob was livid to see one of his teammates quit like that and talked to him on the phone, but nothing changed. Joe quit and Bob was disgusted. Joe didn't even get a "Where Are They Now" segment.
That gave the Red Team a point advantage, as they won that face-off by forfeit. But it would prove too little as the Red Team did not impress on the scale, and the Black Team won the weigh-in. At the vote, it was no surprise -- considering producers have given her so little screen time in these first few episodes -- that Lauren was sent packing.
