In the age of digital everything (digital art included), it is rare to come across a special effect that really stops you in your tracks. It is really rare that that effect is made from pencil and paper. But a little imagination can go a long way, as seen in the surreal and sweet works from Ben Heine.
Heine draws a black and white pencil drawing and perfectly overlaps it with a photograph to create a dreamlike scenario. By combining the realism of photography and fantasy of drawing, he illuminates the hallucinatory nature of everyday life. He told the Huffington Post "I just make art for people. I want them to dream and forget their daily troubles." Take a look at the slideshow below and let us know if Heine's work does just that in the comments section.
