Vice President Biden In Los Angeles Thursday, On 'Ryan Seacrest' Monday

The Vice President's Comin' To Town.. & To Your Radio Dial!

As a reliably Democratic state, it's not very often that California gets love (and by love, we mean visits) from presidents, vice presidents and candidates during a presidential campaign. Which is why today is an occasion: Vice President Joe Biden and wife Dr. Jill Biden are coming to Los Angeles!

The Vice President's job can at times seem elusive, but his recent efforts to promote college affordability are perfectly clear and, we think, perfectly grand. High school and college students can't vote, and yet Mr. Biden has been traveling across the country in recent weeks discussing the need to make college affordable for all Americans.

And what better way to reach out to those youngsters than on Los Angeles's top-rated morning radio show, 102.7 KIIS FM's On Air With Ryan Seacrest. As Politico reports, Vice President Biden will join the "American Idol" host, Ryan Seacrest, on Monday at 7 a.m. to take questions from students about student debt, financial aid and jobs. KIIS FM says to high school and college students, "The Vice President wants to hear from you!" and invites them to call in live or submit questions on Seacrest's Facebook page.

As for today, the Vice President and Dr. Biden are coming from San Francisco, with a stop in Reno, Nevada, and will arrive in Los Angeles in the afternoon. Mr. Biden will attend a campaign event in Los Angeles at 4 p.m. while Dr. Biden attends a roundtable discussion at University of Southern California about the Building Capacity in Military-Connected Schools Program, a program to address military students' special needs. At 6 p.m., the Vice President will meet with business leaders to discuss the economy and how to create more American jobs.

However, all three events are closed to the public, so if you're feeling star-struck (in a political junkie sort of way) -- or student debt-strapped -- you're best bet is to call in to 800-520-1027 to speak to the VP himself, bright and early Monday morning!
