'Grey's Anatomy': Katherine Heigl Wants To Come Back

After all that, Katherine Heigl wants to return to "Grey's Anatomy."

While promoting her new movie, "One For the Money," Heigl told E! Online that she would be up for reprising the role of Dr. Izzie Stevens.

"I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is," Heigl said. "I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she's doing now." Heigl said she's even reached out about it. "I've told them I want to," she said.

Heigl left the series during Season 6 in 2010 to spend more time with her adopted daughter and focus on movie roles. Her potential return to the show, could be just what "Grey's Anatomy" needs. The contracts for stars Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey expire at the end of this season. Dempsey has been candid about whether or not he will be hanging up his stethoscope at the end of Season 8.

"I have a family to support, and why not have a discussion about continuing?" he recently told TV Guide Magazine when asked if he would come back to the show. "The question is will I do a full season, a half season or come back at all?" said Dempsey, who hopes to focus on race car driving and more film roles. "There are so many other things than just the money," he said. "But it's a nice position to be in."

Meanwhile, Pompeo said she would never turn her back on "Grey's."

"I would never turn up my nose at 'Grey's' ... If I hear from the fans that they want us to keep going, then I would continue because we owe them everything," she told TV Guide in October.

Coming up on "Grey's Anatomy" is a crossover episode with sister show "Private Practice" and an alternate reality episode ... perhaps the perfect time for Izzie to return?

Couldn't hack it in in movies so she wants back on the TV show she dissed and demeaned when she wanted off?

Worse yet, it's a TV show -- so they probly WOULD take her back. Pathetic.

I think Katherine is cool and could bring some "oomph" back to the show. I used to love GREY'S, but every new show starting feeling like a rerun so I stopped watching.

You can tell you are losing interest in a tv show when you don't really care about the characters any more. If half of the characters were killed off, it wouldn't affect me at all.

They should end the series this year while still ahead, finally have Grey and McDreamy marry all ready. It's really getting to the point where who cares?

Yes, I agree, bringing Burke back would give the show the injection it needs!

Grey's Anatomy has become a stupid show, with stupid characters, and stupid story lines. Katherine Heigl, you are better off doing what you're doing now. Don't try to save a sinking ship by yourself.

I have been a fan of "Grey's" since the first episode. I wait for Thursdays just for Grey's Anatomy. I liked Izzy, but I wasn't a fan of Izzy and Alex. I think if they brought her back not for Alex or anyone's love interest, but for another story line, it would be good. Just don't get rid of Meredith and McDreamy. They are the show, if Meredith leaves it won't be Grey's Anatomy.

I liked the show better when Katherine Heigl was on it. I do not like it anymore and rarely watch it.
Would try again if she returns.

Her success on the show got to her head. She thought she would be a great, sucessful movie star. But she was not as great as she thought, so wants to crawl back?? Hope they do not accept her back !

It SURE did,she was part of an ENSEMBLE cast,it WAS'NT just her show! I GUESS she CAN always do Bride Of Chucky 2012. Isaiah Washington is a PRIME EXAMPLE of what happens when you lose a GOOD THING!

Watched the show the first 3 seasons then got away from it, for no particular reason, might watch agian if Izzie does come back. Was surprised to see it still on, haven't watched network TV for a long time!

love her....love the show and would love to see her come back for a visit or an arc. my she can really divide people....anyway....for those wishing Katherine bad luck...financial destitution etc....accoding to forbes, since 2007, she has earned 65.5 million dollars, so i'm guessing she doesn't need the money....maybe she wants to do this for the fans that love izzy....
