Jay-Z Makes First Appearance Since Blue Ivy's Birth (VIDEO)

For a new dad Jay-Z didn't look too sleep deprived at the grand re-opening of his New York City hotspot, The 40/40 Club.

On Wednesday night, the 42-year-old rapper made his first public appearance since he and Beyonce welcomed baby daughter Blue Ivy into the world on Jan. 8.

Us Weekly reports Jay was "bum-rushed by reporters, photographers and well-wishers on the red carpet," and thanked everyone for their kind words.

Inside the club at West 25th Street and Broadway, the rapper and club owner was greeted by famous friends offering their congratulations. The guest list included Ashanti, Russell Simmos, Spike Lee, Questlove and even billionaire Warren Buffett, reports E! News.

Although Beyonce wasn't in attendance -- likely at home with baby Blue -- that didn't stop Jay-Z from celebrating with shots of Patron and flutes of Ace of Spades champagne. The proud papa was spotted pulling out his phone and showing photos to his friends, who were giving him hugs and high-fives.

We can't wait until the whole family makes their public debut!

You might be bother. Jay-z has multiple platinum albums over the past 15 years. He has an international multi billion dollar clothing line. He owns his own vodka line, has been in a few movies and at one time was considered one of the greatest emcees of the day.You might need to get a tv considering he is on it everyday for last 15 years lol

I disagree with whomever said the photos of the blue Ivy shouldn't come out for a nice long while. Who asked Beyonce to reveal her pregnancy on the AMA's or whatever show it was? She's been quiet ALL this time about her relationship with Jayz including marriage now why all of a sudden she wants to broadcast her "private" moments. The world would have eventually seen her growing belly so there was no need to do that. So you mean to tell me.. now that the baby is here, Bey goes back to being secretive. Okay. lol

They will only broadcast when they feel it is financially beneficial. Most women keep their pregnancy private at least in the beginning especially somebody who has history of miscarriages.

Maybe now he will realize, like so many of us other parents, how offensive and damaging his lyrics are to kids! It is not enough to tell parents to monitor what our kids hear (we are not with them all of the time). Those who write and produce such degradating lyrics toward women bear responsibility for the effects of their "music"..............not only on kids, but on those who listen and emulate these offensive lyrics!

You are right and I heard on the show "The Talk" with Julie Chen that he said that having this child changed him and that he would never use the word 'bitch' again. Personally I think that it should not have taken having a baby girl to change his mind; having a mother, sister, wife or female friend should have done that. Nevertheless I'm glad that he finally saw the light.

Oh for God's sake, who cares. Do people realize these are not the first two people to reproduce and their baby is no better than anybody elses. Like a baby is gonna know the difference between a $20,000 crib and a regular one. It's for show and people are falling all over themselves. I couldn't care less if i ever see a picture of their kid, I've got plenty of pics of my own kids who are worth much more to me.
