'Top Chef Texas': Charlize Theron Treated To An Evil Feast (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/19/12 03:11 AM ET Updated: 01/19/12 09:49 AM ET

In honor of guest judge Charlize Theron's upcoming role as the Evil Queen in "Snow White and the Huntsman," the cheftestants on "Top Chef Texas" (Wed., 10 p.m. EST on Bravo) were tasked with creating a feast fit for an evil queen. Each of the seven remaining contestants was responsible for one course of the meal.

There were certainly some creative visions coming out of the kitchen, like Paul's bloody handprint surrounded by foie gras combination. It was a chilling presentation perfectly capturing the spirit of the competition. Sarah actually served Theron lamb's heart, which was a bold move, but one that Theron thoroughly appreciated.

Grayson truly outdid herself, serving chicken with the foot still attacked, and a quail's egg on top. "I wanted it to look like a chicken got slaughtered on the plate, and the quail egg symbolizes the baby that was inside her when she got slaughtered," she explained, laughing nervously.

The perfect capper of the feast came with Chris J. and his poisoned apple. He had cherry pie inside, so it would "bleed" when cut open. What more could the evil queen from Snow White want ... except perhaps to serve the apple to Snow White herself?

The entire meal was a huge hit with Theron and the other judges. There simply was not a weak dish among them, prompting necessary nitpicking to figure out who to send home. In the end, it was Beverly whose time on the show was at an end.

"Snow White and the Huntsman," featuring Charlize Theron, is scheduled to premiere June 1, 2012. "Top Chef Texas" continues Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo.

She, Charlize, is a class act. And to be as beautiful and poised as she is, and not have the "I am better than everyone else because I am a stah!" just makes her more endearing. This was one of the better episodes this season. I can't even feel jealous of Charlize - dang! She's just that wonderful :-D

Not only is Charlize gorgeous, but she seemed like a lot of fun...damn.

(Pt. 2 because I am long-winded)

If you look at the comments on the Bravotv site for this episode, there are big arguments going on (some really dumb) where some people are outraged that Nyesha lost vs. happy that Beverly beat the champ.

I think this was an unfair matchup because the Producers threw Beverly an advantage by handicapping Nyesha. In a fair, straight shoot-off, Nyesha would have destroyed Beverly like everyone else.

But the producers didn't want that, and switched things up. Why they didn't do that previously may have to do (IMO) with Beverly and how others treated her (again, my opinion). But Beverly got handed a huge advantage and BARELY won.

One the other hand, I also agree with the fact that ANY Top Chef should be able to make a winning dish with WHATEVER ingredients they are handed. Nyesha did not win, ultimately. But I think she would've gone on to possibly win against the other finalists.

I think I may be done with this show, but there aren't many cooking competitions left that I'm interested in (none on Food Network).

Top Chef outlived its usefulness after Season 4 when the truth came out that the show was fixed.

Colicchio has already picked the "winner" before filming even starts, and throws in some shills to ensure his pick wins "fairly". This was very obvious when Hung won, considering how poorly he did in several cook off's and his less than professional attitude, and everyone knowing that he is Marcell's ("Foam Boy") roommate and best friend.

Yes, Nyesha would have destroyed Beverly without a doubt, and yes, Beverly was helped out by the switch. Colicchio does nothing fair nor clean. If it weren't for this show, he'd be nothing more than a medicore fast food sandwich shop owner.

Bravo and Food Network are not what they used to be, and nothing is worth watching on either channel.

the whole concept of cooking a dish on a timer is stupid, as in a restaurant 5 seconds either way is not a big deal. But you are wrong on Tom, he is always fair and some of the decisions are tough. As for trashing Tom's standing in the culinary world you are wrong there as well.

I cannot find one single article that backs up the assertion that the show was fixed in Season 4, please enlighten us

the twist was due, and not always in a kitchen do you have all the ingredients you want or need to make the perfect dish so you have to improvise. I have created some great dishes just by taking what I had and tweaking it in different ways. I think that Nyesha was thrown off her game by the twist, but I agree any Top Chef should have been able to make a winning dish and she lost on salt and pepper.

The real controversy happened on the Last Chance Cookoff where the losing chef has a "last chance" to defeat the winner of previous losing chefs - this is a Top Chef web series on their website.

Spoiler alert - don't say I didn't warn you...

Nyesha was the reigning champ who DESTROYS every chef in her path. The vast majority of chefs were knocked off by her - all losing chefs remain with the show until the end and serve as spectators.

Anyhow, it was Beverly's chance to go on LCK. All of the previous/losing chefs were asked who would bet that Beverly would beat Nyesha and not one raised their hand.

Long story short, Bev and Nyesha were told to grab ingredients AND equipment to cook a certain fish, then return to their cooking areas. The controversy happened when Tom suddenly runs back in and says STOP. Then tells the both of them to switch positions immediately, and use the other chefs table without bringing items over.

Nyesha said (in a post interview) that she knew she handed Beverly the win because she picked the best ingredients, equpment, etc. And she had to use items that, well... Beverly chose (which Nyesha said were "mostly Asian")

In the end, Tom chose Beverly's dish over Nyesha.

This season sucks. Nobody is pushing the envelope, and most of the plates look like re runs from the late 90's

I don't watch this show, but Charlize Theron is possibly the most beautiful woman on the Planet!

This was the first fully entertaining episode in a rather lackluster season. The remaining chefs actually proved they can cook this time. Go Paul! Go Ed! Go Grayson!
