Jon Stewart Mocks Newt Gingrich 'Open Marriage' Accusation (VIDEO)

WATCH: Jon Stewart Mocks Newt Gingrich 'Open Marriage' Accusation

After a brief update on how well his pal Stephen Colbert is doing in the South Carolina polls, Jon Stewart got back to mocking the more traditional presidential candidates -- specifically Newt Gingrich -- on Thursday night's "Daily Show."

Of course, Stewart couldn't get to the news that Newt Gingrich's second wife accused him of wanting an "open marriage" this week without first addressing Rick Perry dropping out of the race. Just less than six months ago, Stewart feared that Perry was going to be the second coming of George W. Bush, but on Thursday morning he jumped overboard "like an Italian cruise ship captain," as Stewart so aptly put it.

But on to the good stuff: Gingrich's ex claims that before divorcing her (after she developed Multiple Sclerosis) he asked her to be in an "open marriage" because he didn't like her wanting him "all to herself." The idea almost made Stewart sick:

"First wife, cancer, second wife, multiple sclerosis? Can Newt Gingrich be reclassified as a pollutant?"

In part two, Stewart turns to John Oliver to discuss how Gingrich's "champion of traditional marriage" persona doesn't quite makes sense considering that his marital values are constantly being called into question. But, as Oliver points out, to guys like Gingrich, "traditional" marriage essentially means "Powerful men doing whatever the f*ck they want whenever the f*ck they want to."

Watch part one above and see part two below to hear Stewart and Oliver's ideas for how Gingrich can use this latest bombshell to his advantage.
