Kevin Hart Divorce: Talks Split On 'The Rosie Show'

First Posted: 01/20/12 05:35 PM ET Updated: 01/20/12 05:42 PM ET

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart stopped by OWN's "The Rosie Show" Thursday to dish on his divorce and -- not surprisingly -- the comedian has a humorous outlook on the split.

"I moved on, she's happy, I'm happy," he told O'Donnell. "I'm happier than she is, though. I just say it to her all the time. Literally, when I see her, 'I'm happier than you.'"

Hart separated from wife Torrei in February 2010 after nearly eight years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences." He requested joint custody of the couple's two children and sought to deny his ex of spousal support.

However, Hart revealed that he is now on good terms with his ex: "I would never disrespect or put her in the limelight where she would be seen as an ugly vicious person -- that's the mother of my kids," he told O'Donnell. "We just didn't work out, but we're friends."

It's not the first time Hart has used his divorce for comedic fodder; his concert film "Laugh At My Pain," out this week on DVD this week, features stand-up about his split.

If a mans happy to loose his woman it just means he's inside another one, woman are woman, and men are men, we're all the same, one's know different from another, we just get used to their personality, a brake is as good as a change, but change mostly happens, I you split from a partner dont be upset, deal with the change and go get another body to make up for the one you lost, dont go get drunk or swallow pills and try killing yourself, it's a joke, and the jokes on you for doing it, see it as a new begining and look forward to a fresh sex partner, turn your sadness into joy

I love kevin hart, he's a riot. Very talented man. Sorry about his divorce though, but if any of his standup is based on his real life, she could beat the sheet out of him, in fact it may have happen.

Not since Dennis Wolfburg could a comedian make me laugh so hard just by the expressions on his face! I have to get his latest work.

"I'm happier than she is, though. I just say it to her all the time. Literally, when I see her, 'I'm happier than you.'" Great stuff!

I don't know what has gone on in the marriage, but apparently he has asked a judge to restrict her from leaving the state lines with their children. I hope every body really is "happy" for their sake.

The following list may seem superficial but to me these are warning signs.
A woman who feels the need to permanently tattoo the most beautiful parts of her body (breast, legs, buttocks, face (my god).
A woman who gets into fights at bar/clubs: Definitely a warning sign.
A woman who is taller than you. Not much Little Kev can do about that, but...well, there it is...3 warning signs.

Or she could work. Go out and make the people laugh, so he could stay home and watch the kids. Right?

If my husband and I split up (been together longer, also have 2 kids), I wouldn't ask for spousal support, except maybe of a temporary nature, assuming we had joint custody and he paid his share of kid expenses.

Now if he had tons of money and offered me some of it, I wouldn't turn it down, but just don't see demanding it.

Other people's situations might be different, for example, if the wife gave up a lot career-wise for the husband, that would change things.

And I don't know what is going on in Hart's case, but if, say, his wife is an addict or self-destructive, it would be bad to enable that.

what ? Are you his new woman or something...that woman is a church girl...always in the church...don't throw out words like addict...sheesh

Good point! women should take care of themselves. Not many women are married to multimilionaires whose spousal support equates toa drop in the bucket. Why try to bankrupt the man that you want to take care of you and your kids?

[He] sought to deny his ex of spousal support! WTF???

Most Hollywood wives do not work, and now he wants to deny her spousal support.

I understand temporary spousal support but none?

Kevin Hart, you have just lost a fan!
