Ribbonesia's Outstanding Ribbon Crafts (PHOTOS)

Ribbon...Like You've Never Seen Before

We thought we knew how to craft with ribbon. We can trim a lampshade, make barrettes, embellish fabrics and even make placecard holders...but all of that pales in comparison to the ribbon creations we found on Ribbonesia. The incredible ribbon dragon in the photo is just one of the many unique creatures Japanese artist Baku Maeda and his team have created. From ribbon seals (complete with a ball balanced on its nose) to deer with intricate antlers to furry lions, the creations are a great mix of art and fun. Even though most of the website is in Japanese, the visuals are just so inspiring (and downright charming) that it's worth a visit and a browse -- you might get a ribbon craft idea or two from the photographs. Just keep the Google translate window open.
