Nicki Minaj 'Stupid Hoe' Video Drops (WATCH)

First Posted: 01/21/2012 10:36 am Updated: 01/25/2012 10:11 am

Nicki Minaj has not only dropped the new video for her song "Stupid Hoe"; she's also tossed in some First Amendment fire for good measure.

The eccentric rapper/pop star spent the past few days teasing her video, promising fans something extraordinary enough that it could not be aired on normal television. "Can't premiere on a network b/c its important that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time," she tweeted on Thursday.

The spot features, for the most part, Nicki shooting lyrics while booty-dancing, writhing in a cage and wearing all sorts of different makeup. Her colorful ensembles and transformation into a large predator cat is actually some of the most tame visual work she's done; see her VMA red carpet look for proof.

As a helpful reminder, the video also flashes, incessantly, the message that Minaj will be performing at next month's Super Bowl. Presumably, monkeys and tigers not included.

How embarrassing for AA women. This garbage is not only influencing a generation of impressionable, naive kids but also is mocking real music art and its standards. I long for music that is not degrading and offensive which is probably why I am a huge fan of older artists and songs. I just wish that people could filter out the trash with their ears instead of claiming "I don't listen to the words I just like the beat." I have not listened to this song personally, but I have every right to group it with the rest of my unappealing ear and mind entertainment.

This video is dumb and degrading. You say she's mocking other women? If this is what it took to mock other women, then did she really need to go there? Because when you lie down with dogs, you get up with flies. There is no way to justify this garbage. I wish there was a way to filter all of this junk out of African American culture. We need a movement that can help true artists break through. Our culture is being shackled by the dollars that come from people who can only enjoy the crassest entertainment. In another decade, we will be in very real trouble.

PLEASE tell me this is some sort of parody and not a real song and video. Nicki needs to get it together ASAP.

It used to be that when music sucked no one heard about it...it just went away...Now thanks to the internet and social networking..we all promote crappy music by watching it, writing about it, and sharing it. The video has had almost 8 million views within 3 days so she probably isn't going away anytime soon.

She set's black women back by years. Minaj is exactly what her video is titled. She's proud of it, too.
