Brandy Norwood: 'Nobody Can Play Whitney Like Me'

Former child star Brandy has it kept it on the down low these days, but the actress-singer pops up in this clip from TrueExclusives to tell the world her dream gig -- playing Whitney Houston in a biopic. Showing the kind of sassitude that would behoove her if she were cast as the "I Will Always Love You" diva, Brandy dishes on why she'd beat out all the other ladies.

"My dream role would be to play Whitney Houston. Of course she would have to sing all the songs. But I would love to play Ms. Whitney. I have her personality down pat, her 'isms' down pat. Like no offense ladies -- it's a lot of talented ladies there -- but nobody can play Whitney like me. Yes!"

The comment got us thinking: Which star would you like to see playing Whitney Houston in an imaginary biopic? Thirty-two-year-old Brandy might seem like an unlikely choice against the Jennifer Hudsons and Beyonces out there, but the two go further back than you might think. Brandy appeared with Houston in the 1997 Disney film adaption of the "Cinderella" musical, with Brandy as the titular star. See a clip from the movie below.

I'm sure no matter who plays Whitney the majority of the songs would be lip synched. If its just about acting, Brandy can probably pull it off & well because they were close for years and she's seen Whitney in just about every situation. But then again so could Jennifer Hudson (who may not want to lip synch, and why should she have to?). That's a tough call for me.

Either way I'm still sad we're even having this conversation about doing a Whitney biopic because she's gone :-(

Only one person could play Whitney and that is Jenniffer Hudson. She is the only singer that can hit the high notes that Whitney sang.

Brandy's voice is no comparison to Whitney's. I have heard American idol contestants that blow her out of the water. I think a fresh face from a regular American playing Whitney would be more fitting.

I think Jennifer Hudson would be great playing Whitney in a film on her life. I love her voice.

Yes, Brandy could definitely play Whitney and I've seen and heard her sing some of Whitney's songs very, very well. But remember Whitney can't even sing the way she used to anymore!!! But again, Brandy, and Brandy is my favorite artist and singer has a very unique voice but it's different from Whitney. She's a great actress too.

Brandy would have her down pat - and aslong as they piped in the vocals she'd kill it!! She has know Nippy for yearssssss and Ray even ''dated '' her to! haha
