Scientists in Virginia matched groups according to IQ, ranked members' performance on cognitive tasks against the others, and then revealed the rankings.

Meetings lead to groupthink, and groupthink leads to lack of innovation. Dumber? It's all in how you define dumber.

Now that I think about it....I agree. Just finished the Steve Jobs book. He didn't like the power point presentations & I can see how that alone would slow up the process (yawn). It's great to brain storm, however when people get caught up in nonsense then it's just a cog in the wheel . I never enjoyed meetings unless I could pair them with something else (coffee, breakfast...anything productive). Often times after an "official" meeting I'd meet with people to REALLY get down to results oriented ideas. One of the things I noted in his book was his belief that "A" list people like to work with other "A" list people. Another words put the best people together to get best results. What do you think?
