John Kerry Appears At The White House Sporting A Broken Nose, 2 Black Eyes

Sen. John Kerry made quite an impression on Monday when he appeared at a White House event honoring the Stanley Cup champs, the Boston Bruins, sporting a broken nose and two black eyes.

The 68-year-old senior Democrat from Massachusetts suffered the injuries during a pickup hockey game over the holidays. According to the Political Intelligence blog, Kerry was hit in the face with a hockey stick.

"He's totally fine," Kerry spokeswoman Whitney Smith told ABC News. "Very ironically he busted his nose recently playing ice hockey, so the Bruins can certainly relate."

Kerry has played hockey for many years, typically in the forward/right wing position. The centrist lawmaker and former presidential contender also participates in the Congressional Hockey Challenge, a charity event between lawmakers and lobbyists that raises thousands of dollars for the Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club in Washington D.C.

If Kerry was hit by a hockey stick causing injury to both eye areas why isn't the bridge of his nose effected. This must have been a curved hockey stick.

I guess that, despite being a retired drill sergeant, your commanding officer never felt you deserved a purple heart. I don't suppose there is a lot of peril or heroism to a job that is about screaming and yelling at recruits, insulting their intelligence because you are better able to march than they are,

At the moment he's very interesting. If I was him, I'd not have let the hockey story get out so people be wondering if my face got in the way of some flying ketchup bottles, but that's just me. I like to mess with peoples' minds. A terrible habit, I'm first to admit, but such fun.
