Michelle Obama State Of The Union Dress 2012: A Blue Barbara Tfank! (PHOTOS, POLL)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/24/2012 9:29 pm Updated: 01/25/2012 11:36 am

Michelle Obama looked dazzling at Tuesday's State of the Union speech in a shiny sapphire dress from designer Barbara Tfank's spring resort collection. To spice up the already gorgeous blue taffeta, the First Lady added an Alexis Bittar brooch and black slingback pumps.

Last year FLOTUS opted for simple chic in a Rachel Roy sheath dress, but she's worn Barbara Tfank before, including this printed green number and the mint green frock Mrs. O wore while meeting the Duchess of Cambridge.

Tfank also recently dressed Adele.

The First Lady's hair and makeup looked perfectly elegant as well... and we're dying to see some photos of her shoes.

Check out pics below and tell us what you think! We'll add more as they come in.

I think she stood out too much next to the others in the audience. Looks like the top does not fit her well.

I don't think Michelle is all that, I actualy think she look almost like an alien or something, but that is my true thoughts, also her TEATH are WAY too BIG. That is truly what I think so there you have it!

Learn how to spell. It's "teeth" NOT "teath". Must be an ill-informed under-educated Tea Party member. SMH at what America has become.

Since when are Tea Party members under educated and ill informed? Tea Party members are arguing for a better America. Our party system is awful. The Tea Party is giving America something to think about, don't you think? Or, is your head too big or your eyes are blind sided with the wonderful two party system that is getting nothing done in Congress?

Are you serious? Where is my post? Everything said was perfectly appropriate and should be posted.

I really love the style of the dress but I cannot imagine why she chose to wear it to a serious political speech. Look at the people seated around her. No one is dressed as she. This is serious business, not some wedding, fundraiser, or cocktail party! Maybe a matching jacket would have made it more acceptable attire. I know she is a very intelligent woman, which makes me wonder "Why?"

Why not?

The first lady Rocked it! Her's a true story:
One night President Obama and his wife Michelle decided to do something out of routine and go for a casual dinner at a restaurant that wasn't too luxurious. When they were seated, the owner of the restaurant asked the President's secret service if he could please speak to the First Lady in private. They obliged and Michelle had a conversation with the owner. Following this conversation President Obama asked Michelle, why was he so interested in talking to you. She mentioned that in her teenage years, he had been madly in love with her. President Obama then said, "so if you had married him, you would now be the owner of this lovely restaurant", to which Michelle responded, "no, if I had married him, he would now be the President."

I love the shot of her with her hand on the back of Barack's chair as they made the call to the family of the woman who was rescued in Somalia. Michelle is really stunning.

Beauty, brains, style, poise, and grace, no wonder the president is always smiling and singing those old Al Green songs. Don't want to say that he married 'up', but she is one 'fine lady'!

That may be true, but 'versatile' does not grow 6 inches overnight.. Plus the line of the wig cap is showing.. She looked so much better with her own short hair recently.
