Worst Church Singer Ever: Man Sings 'Looking For A City' (VIDEO)

We won't exactly sing his praises, but you have to admit this guy has guts.

In the video above, the cheery singer belts out a special rendition of "Looking For A City," a tune he says his church friends adore.

The performance -- which lasts for nearly three entire minutes, starting around minute 1:05 -- might leave you speechless, but the ballad does solicit whistles and applause from a rather brave audience. Homeboy must be doing something right.

As the video description cheekily points out: "I know anytime you sing for god [sic] it doesn't matter how you sound but..."

Oh, this is nothing. Visit rural Kentucky and pop into any random Baptist church and you'll hear comparable attempts at making joyful noise. Some of us grew up having to listen to this squawking twice a week until age 18. Shudder.

I think you all are cruel.

I think the person in the church who observed this person giving his personal praise to God, then filmed it to subject this dear soul to scorn and global humiliation, is totally devoid of any scruples or any love in his heart for his fellow man.

To make a public mockery of another human being is abusive. Did the filming person request the singer's permission to be filmed and to have the film put up online for all to see? If not, whether it was legal or not, this was horribly, horribly abusive.

I, for one, am touched by this man's beautiful childlike faith and his eagerness to give his praise to God and to express his hope in God and in eternity.

A Warning; Do Not go the Catholic funerals, I went recently and was bombarded by people with no discernible talent who sang, played the guitar, all so very badly. To make it worse the deceased, a friend, would have laughed themselves silly at this display.

Last funeral I went to was a German one in Texas. Some beautiful singing by people who have known each other and sung with each other for fifty or more years. A natural choir.

He really sounds no better and perhaps only a hair worse than most of the people I catch singing on local broadcast church services here all across the South. You can catch them on any ole' Sunday.

Definitely the weirdest thing I can remember ever seeing and hearing in a civilized country. Really; what did they think they were doing? And the crowd was loving it? Remind me never to go to church!

God has to have a tin ear, to hear His name uttered in vain so many billions of times a day and not scorch the earth because of it.

He cares much more about that than about off-key singing of His praises!
