11 Bizarre Pieces Of Barack Obama Fan Art (PHOTOS)

After President Obama's 2012 State of the Union address, we know the country's opinion of him still varies. Some people loved his economic talk and Gabby Giffords hug, others didn't care for his health care reform persistence and bad "spilled milk" joke. But no one can deny the fervent passion of his supporters, and there's no greater evidence of that than the hordes and hordes of Obama fan art which people have posted online.

Unfortunately, sometimes these people get a little carried away with their imaginations. So take a break from the intense political discourse and enjoy some pretty inexplicable and mostly bizarre works of President Obama fan art and be thankful that we live in a country where we are free to paint pictures of our president sitting naked atop a unicorn. Wait!...."­Pandemoniu­m Obama" is clearly the work of a master, but Hispanic Obama! There appear to be cosmic tacos with rays of power...wh­ich is nice, in a Carlos Casteneda kind of way. But are those, are they....uh briefs?...­..is it me? No, it's not just me, they're briefs. Is this some kind of reference to "tea bagging"..­..Cool! Overall, this work looks like something Grandma Moses might've painted if she were doing a mural for "La Raza"...wh­ile on mescaline. What's not to like?

The "Native American Obama" painting you make fun of was created by artist Bunky Echohawk. One of the artist's specialtie­s is to create paintings that reflect the conversati­ons taking place at particular events. In other words, he starts and completes a painting during an evening or over the course of a couple of days during events relative to Native American thoughts, concerns, and key events. This one, was to honor the name the Crow Nation gave to Obama.

From the UN Leadership conference web page:
"While visiting the Crow Reservatio­n in Montana, Obama was adopted as an honorary member of the Crow Nation and given a native name that means "one who helps people throughout the land."

"To extend adoption to someone means that [the tribe] recognizes you as an individual who is aligned with them," explained Richard Guest, senior staff attorney for the Native American Rights Fund, a non-profit organizati­on devoted to protecting and defending Native American

Artist Bunky Echohawk, who was inspired by Obama's speech at the Crow Reservatio­n and his "compassio­n for Native people," created a painting of Barack Obama entitled, "Barack Black Eagle: He Who Helps People Throughout the Land," at the Native Nations: Uniting for Change event during the Democratic National Convention­.
