Brad Pitt On Marriage: 'We'd Actually Like To' Make Things Official

Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie

Six children in, we almost forgot that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have never made things official with an "I do." But according to Pitt, Hollywood's most revered couple may be heading down the aisle soon -- much to the joy of their children.

"We'd actually like to," Pitt told The Hollywood Reporter when asked if he and Jolie had plans to marry. "It seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren't going to do it till everyone can. But I don't think we'll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot."

But Pitt's children aren't the only ones who are looking forward to the couple's impending nuptials.

"It means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment ... To be in love with someone and be raising a family with someone and want to make that commitment and not be able to is ludicrous, just ludicrous."

But this isn't the first time that Pitt has been vocal about abandoning the couple's vow to remain unmarried until all couples are given the same right. In May 2011, Pitt told USA Today that their six children were pressuring mom and dad to tie the knot. An option, that Pitt explained, he planned to take a closer look at.

I wonder if they've ever actually bothered to explain to their kids why they aren't married.

I honestly never knew that that was their reason for not marrying. Kudos to them. I really respect that.

They had decided to postpone their wedding until everybody got the equal chance to get married. Having found out they would have to wait much much longer, they decided to go for it. After all, getting married at the age of 95 would be kind of awkward.

The secret underground Desposyni Church, (www.DesposyniChurch.org), congratulates Brad and Angel-ina on their forthcoming marriage. We voted them the most spiritual couple in Hollywood. (Yes, we know Brad is 80% agnostic and 20% atheist, but so would any open minded adult, given modern religions’ false image of God).

Why is everyone so against Brad/Angie?. Everyone is still so team "Jen"! Brad has all ready stayed longer with Angie then he did with Jen.. and over the past 7 years how many men has Jen been with? And how many have lasted?. Acknowledge the pattern here people! Maybe Jen wasn't as 'good' as you might like to think and the man moved on to by 'happy'.. is that a sin?. Its not like they had kids together and he walked out on them.. if anything he walked 'IN' on them! Married or not, they are a great couple!

I have two very dear friends who are in their late 40's and have never been married. They do not want to be married and have dated their share of men. There is nothing wrong with either of them - one does not believe in the institution and one says she will get married when she's fifty. George Clooney dates a lot of women, but I don't think there is anything wrong with him!

I would also point out that there are people out there who have been cheated on by their spouse. These people do not look upon people who cheat favorably. They are not specifically pro-Aniston as much as they are anti-Pitt. I was very interested in the story about his atheism/belief, etc., but, of course, her name had to be thrown into the mix.

I'm sure Pitt and Jolie are sincere in their humanitarianism, but I also know that there has had to be a lot of damage control. They are no better than any charitable celebrity, nor are their children any more fabulous or beautiful. They are put on a pedestal that even Mother Teresa couldn't climb, and I just don't get it.

A lot of people have been betrayed by their spouses, but they don't usually hold a grudge for seven years about somebody else's divorce.

It's about time, especially since they have six children who are pushing the issue.

I wonder that as well. And even though I am usually pro-marriage, there is something really cool about their solid relationship without the formal commitment. Whatever they do, I just hope they can stay together for the long haul!
12:31 PM on 01/26/2012
The relationship is probably better off not being formalized.
I just have this feeling, if they do the deed they will be divorced in no time flat.
If they dont marry it MAY last longer.

Does it matter? Most of the people in that fantasyland change partners like underwear.

It seems as though the Angeline-Pit children are more mature than their parents. I don't cre how many are adopted or naturally born, don't they realize they are embarrassing their children!

To be honest this is probably the most enthused either one of them has seemed regarding marriage. so im wondering if this time it will actually happen.

God knows they've made sure to talk to the media about it enough.
03:46 PM on 01/26/2012
and yet its the media that keeps pressing them for an answer.. see most of us like myself could care less if they marry,, they seem to be just fine the way they are..

After living together for so many years, (I forget the term), but aren't you considered married?
12:03 PM on 01/26/2012
Ed--it is called a "common-law marriage".
03:47 PM on 01/26/2012
common law.. not valid in California..
