Kate Bush's 'Eider Falls at Lake Tahoe' Uses Shadow Puppetry In New Video

First Posted: 01/25/2012 8:37 am Updated: 01/25/2012 8:39 am

Kate Bush is kicking it old school on her latest video with a more ancient technique than she used on her claymating snowman lover -- shadow puppetry! "Eider Falls at Lake Tahoe" tells of a woman and her dog reuniting (don't worry, no love story here). The simple tale matches the animation technique, which, in an era of stop-motion this and 3D that, is almost more impressive to watch and be completely taken with. Thank you, Kate Bush, for this short moment of reflection.

I am hesitant to admit that I didn't like this at all: too amateurish, crude, silly plot, pointless, no new or fresh message. I nothing positive to say about it!

I completely agree with TRDMC - Kate Bush IS a genius. Aerial, Hounds Of Love, 50 Words For Snow, The Sensual World, The Dreaming and her debut The Kick Inside (yes, the album she wrote & recorded at a mere 17!) are completely flawless records. No other artist/band in my opinion has such an incredible track record of producing such an amount dizzyingly perfect works. And considering Kate has only released 10 albums in her career, this truly shows what a master of her craft she is. Everyone MUST go and buy her latest album 50 Words For Snow - lush, haunting and absolutely perfect. By the 3rd track in (Misty), I can guarantee you'll be completely immersed in Kate Bush's sensual world forever. A musical legend if there ever was one.

I think you'll find she wrote much of 'The Kick Inside' at 13, inckuding it's #1, 'Wuthering Heights'.

Been a fan for years....

The word "genius" is overused (and often undeserved), but I'll use it here, without reservations, to describe Kate. Her work can be uneven, but when she hits her stride she's brilliant. Listen to her album "The Dreaming". It's the most stunning, groundbreaking album ever recorded. And I'm taking into consideration "Pet Sounds" and "Sgt.Pepper's...".
