Star Jones To Make Guest Appearance On 'The View' In February

Star Jones

NEW YORK — Apparently enough water has flowed under the bridge for Barbara Walters and Star Jones to reunite for a day.

"The View" announced on Wednesday that Jones will appear on the daytime talk show on Feb. 22 to promote an awareness campaign about heart disease among women.

Walters and Jones had a falling out in 2006 when Jones, one of the five original co-hosts of the daytime chat show, exited "The View." ABC decided not to renew her contract and Jones took Walters by surprise by announcing on June 27 that she would be leaving the show.

That exit came more quickly than expected. Walters wouldn't allow her back the next day.

Walters later said that Jones had compelled her co-hosts to lie for her by not revealing that Jones had undergone gastric bypass surgery while on "The View." Jones took her own shots, criticizing Walters for writing an autobiography that revealed details of an affair.

The women later had something serious in common. Both underwent open heart surgery to repair faulty heart valves within two months of each other in 2010.

Jones is coming back to the show to discuss her involvement in the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" public information campaign. Women are asked to wear red on Feb. 3 to support heart patients.

ABC is owned by The Walt Disney Co.

Sometimes a little weight looks good on some people. Star is one for those people.

Good for Starr, I've always loved her, intelligent women always get a bad rap from other women, Barbara & Starr can at least put the past to rest- I like to see smart successful women getting along.

I don't like this woman because she thinks she's better than others, like she's the smartest in the room and everyone else don't know what they are talking about. Humble yourself woman.

Stsr did go a bit off the rails at the end there with her wedding and the weight loss deception, but that original group were so heads and shoulders above the women on that show now! There is no comparison between Lisa Ling and hasselback, nor Meridith and Whoopi, not to mention Star compared to Sherry. I stopped looking with this current group. Star is a legal analyst on the Today Show, and she was excellent when standing in for Larry King on CNN. She should stick with the legal aspect of her career.

I remember when Star said her weight loss was due to good choices in eating and exercise, not mentioning her stomach being rubber banded to the size of a walnut. Some people aren't meant to be skinny and Star is one of them. She looked 100% more healthier when she was at her normal weight. Now she looks like a living scarecrow.

Stopped watching awhile back, couldn't stand Elizabeth or Sherry, grating to the nerves, both of them.

Towards the end she seemed to have the thought process of a Bobby Brown
influenced Whitney Houston.
Hopefully, she has back on a more even keel,
but regardless of that she will only be half the woman she was before. ;)

I used to like Star before she went crazzzy with weight loss and extravagant wedding plans. I hope she has returned to her original logical, reasoning self.

Although the ratings are better now, I think The View was at its best with the reasonable voices of Meredith, Star, and Lisa joining Joy and Barbara.

Oh joy. Did she ever complete the G.E.D.?
07:29 AM on 01/25/2012
Did you?

Star has a law degree...
07:34 AM on 01/25/2012
There are plenty of idiot lawyers. A degree is meaningless unless you pass a state bar exam which grants you the right to practice,

I doubt she ever did this.
