Jon Stewart Recaps 2012 State Of The Union Address Highs And Lows (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart State Of The Union

After months of mocking the GOP presidential candidates almost exclusively, on Wednesday night's "Daily Show" Jon Stewart finally got around to ripping President Obama and the rest of the 2012 State of the Union address.

Right off the bat, Stewart took issue with Obama starting the speech by reminding everyone that he killed Osama bin Laden.

"Does Rick Springfield open with 'Jesse's Girl?'" Stewart joked, also suggesting that Barry open with another Al Green cover next time.

The rest of the address went mostly as planned, with Republicans applauding every time Obama mentioned lower taxes (he promised so many that Stewart dubbed him, "Tax Credit Oprah") and Democrats applauding clean energy, better social programs and the like. All was going well until Obama's now-infamous "spilled milk" joke that was a real groaner at best.

"As somebody who does comedy for a living -- been there," Stewart reassured, pointing out Michelle Obama's deadpan reaction to the joke as a good measure of how bad it was.

But Michelle's wasn't the only funny campera pan of the night. Stewart noticed that when Obama mentioned Israel, they immediately cut to Sen. Chuck Schumer. Naturally, Stewart used this opportunity to do his beloved impression once again.

Watch the full segment above and hear the one unfortunate thing Stewart realized was the only talking point that got both sides of the aisle out of their seats that night.

No matter who you vote for this election, you'll be voting for a candidate in favor of global militarism and war with the middle east. America has become a country permanently at war.

And liberals are the worst. They're all going to vote for a candidate that has ass.assinated an American and buys into the coming war with Iran 100%. HYPOCRITES.

Let's be honest: comparing Obama to a one-hit wonder isn't quite fair.

Let's be further honest: calling out the thunderous applause to the sabre-rattling is justifiably foreboding.

Wouldn't it have been fun?

"Ladies and Gentlemen, The President of The United States"

"My fellow Americans, in accordance with my pledge to you, to have the most open, most honest administration in history............. the State of the Union, quite frankly?..............sucks.

Our Government is broken, little gets done by congress, because the minority party leadership won't allow it.

They have stated their primary goal, in no uncertain terms.

'The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

With so much that NEEDS to be done, to address the largest recession since the great depression, their single biggest goal is my defeat.

I can't move this country forward by myself, no one can.

I need your help, elect people to Congress, regardless of party......... willing to work to move this country forward again.

Otherwise, next year will be like this year, and the year after that like the year before last.

Governed by partisan strife, where nothing meaningful can be accomplished.

It's not up to me people, or ANY single person...........................................it's up to you"

Never gonna happen.............. but it sure would have been a lot more fun to watch.

This was one of the most misguided segments Stewart has had in awhile.all I could think of was he was trying to balance all his criticism of Republicans,.

Hi Jon, I think you're wrong on this one. Opening with "Osama Bin Laden is not a threat to this country in 2 decades" is HUGE. And appropriately made front, center and first is what this country needed to hear. How many lives lost that day, how many people killed in 2 wars , our own sons and daughters of the military, and innocent civilians. Yes, finally after so many years of war, the terrorist who caused all this destruction has been "put down" no longer to terrorize anyone anymore. I would shout that to the entire world!! We will still feel this for a very long time. The effects will be felt for a very long time with our returning vets and all the issues that come with it. It spreads like a rippling effect, a small stone thrown into a pond, spreading wider and wider. It has affected all of us. And to hear, Yeah, he will never do this again is so sweet to my ears. So, say it LOUD! Say it PROUD!
