Michelle Obama Visits Grocery Store In LBD (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Every first lady must learn to dress for a roster of traditional occasions, from the state dinner and the State of the Union to the international goodwill tour and the annual tree lighting.

Michelle Obama has added another category: the grocery store visit.

This Thursday, Mrs. O found herself at the National Supermarket in Tampa, Florida, promoting "Mi Plato," or "My Plate," to reach Hispanic families in her campaign for healthy eating.

For the colorful photo opp, which had her posing against a display of fresh veggies, Michelle went dark in a sleek black dress with white and gray detailing. Sporting medium-height black pumps, the first lady looked confident and serious while addressing the crowd.

It was our favorite grocery store outfit yet, better than the Tracy Reese black-and-white striped sweater she wore in October at a Chicago supermarket and the somewhat unflattering gray sheath and boots she sported at a Walmart last January.

Although honestly, the pictures always come out great either way. Bright fruits and vegetables make an awesome backdrop.

Michelle looks sensational. She, like many of us, was not born with a "perfect" body but does everything right, including exercising and eating well, to show us that personal choices can keep us fit and healthy. She lives by what she believes in, and by example she inspires people.

I wouldn't classify her shoes as medium-height black pumps, however, as this article did. My feet would be killing me if I wore those HIGH heels!

Michele knows as much about healthy eating as a blind man trying to regain his sight in the dark, only the blind man is not to blame. Michele, drink your diet soda, eat your cheeseburger, & go out & spend more government money. It's important that people do what they're good at...

Ellie, Ellie, Ellie. Mrs. Obama dresses casual in a sweater and slacks and you don't like that. She wears a sheath to meet with Walmart business leaders and you find it unflattering. She wears a sheath and you ask is it too formal.

Having a crappy prez brings out the worst in people especially when their are more folks on welfare and food stamps. Without homes or jobs. We can hardly decide whether to put gas in our tanks and or buy a gallon of milk. I paid four bucks for a gallon of gas the other day and 5 dollars for a gallon of milk at Food Lion. We are a Puerto Rican family and know what racism is. Stop trivializing racism. That is why no one take real racism seriously anymore because of people like you. Four more of him and we will be in gas lines and food lines. Good luck with that. I have food insurance thank goodness.

Michelle Obama looked Gorgeous and very Slim, no one trashed Barbara Bush about her figure, hello! And President Obama became the President of the Harvard Law Review, voted on by his fellow Classmates to represent the finest, the same as we've done for our Nation.  Petty, ill-informed and biased from the Right. But it's probably because they are both "Blah..." as Santorum likes to say.

The Harvard Law Review used to elect the top five in their class to be eligible for the position of president of the Review. They saved the fifth spot for a minority or a woman not based on that. It was part of an affirmative action program. We can't even get a peak at anything Obama wrote or his grades.

In many areas of the country folks do dress up to go to the grocery store, or anywhere.

If I were giving a presentation, I would dress up.

Many times I've seen people who have just left church who are dressed to the nines in the grocery store. People who have just gotten off from work dressed very business like in the grocery store. I've seen people who are attending a meeting with management at the grocery store dressed in suits (men and women). 1st Lady Obama has been invited to speak at the grocery store, not to go shopping. My question is, when invited to lecture how is she supposed to dress? In jeans and a tee shirt. What is the writer's point or problem?
