Scott Walker Poll

Adam W. McCoy   11/30/00 12:00 AM ET

Shorewood Patch:

Against four Democratic challengers in a recall election, Gov. Scott Walker leads by anywhere from 6 to 10 percentage points, according to a new poll released this week.

The first in a series of polls by the Marquette University Law School asked registered voters whom they would vote for in head-to-head matchups between the challengers and Walker.

Of course he is leading.

Contrary to the recallers, most here in the state greatly appeciate what our governor is doing for the state's financial picture. Tough choices needed to be made and he refused to kick the can down the road.

This poll doesn't even make sense -- because Walker won't be running against 4 Democratic candidates splitting the vote. He'll be running against one and people will vote for the Democrat to get Walker out even if he or she wasn't their first choice.

As an outsider looking in, this effort looks like its lost steam. I would think that the dems would need a strong well liked candidate to have a shot and I understand that has not materialized. I hope this recall does not backfire and make walker and his ilk look stronger to the rest of the country......

See for yourself who is going to win this recall. The majority of Wisconsin residents know that liberals are running our state and our country into the ground. Libertarian is the party of the future if we want to have a future.

Libertarianism is the future? I wouldn't say that at all. Currently, our entire society is built around notions derived from 100 years of progressivism. But, help me to get this straight. If we elect the right, we can end Social Security, end taxation, end Medicare and Medicaid, defund public schools, privatize state univeristies, end the minimum wage, abolish the EPA, and secede from the union at our pleasure?

And that will grow the economy and make us competitive in a world where China and India grow their GDP at 10% each year, and train a million new engineers each year at state expense? A world where socialist Germany has the second largest trade surplus? We should dismantle and decentralize our institutions, just as other nations are using state power to build and accelerate their economies?

If you're selling libertarian policies, I'll point out that there are zero examples of a nation that has succeeded without strong institutions. Can you think of any exceptions, a nation that has created a durable society through low taxes and libertarian policies? I can't. Universally, they're failed states with populations mired in poverty

By the way, I'm a leftist, not a 'liberal'. Next time you'll remember the difference.

Here is the example you requested of a country that succeeded in creating a durable society through low taxes and libertarian policies without a strong institutionalized central government: The USA previous to progressivism (1787 - ~1910).

Doesn't matter. Looks like the Democrat will be running against Kleefisch anyway.

The FBI is currently tearing apart the covert fundraising machine that Walker and his deputies ran with public resources when he was Milwaukee County Executive.

This should get interesting.

It is what it is. There's lots of speculation around this. Some say he's not the target of the John Doe, others think he doesnt know anything in any case, so it's no big deal. Last February, I heard differently.

Walker ran the machine, you say? What a lie.

Please provide proof that Walker was involved.....I am waiting.

You'll have to wait for the results of the investigation, just like everyone else. Beyond the established fact that Walker's deputy was raising campaign funds on public time, we're not clear on what happened.

On the bright side for you, his deputy only admitted to doing it 1380 times. Walker probably assumed she was raising all that money on weekends and holidays.

So after posting that online news polls contradict the Marquette poll -with Walter at only about 22%-BAM magically overnite the numbers shift to Walker at 50%. Never during the course of any election have they ever shifted that fast in a matter of 8 to 12 hours since I last checked. HAHAHAHAHA. Too funny. Problem is you can log out log in and vote as often as you please. Trolls -knock yourselves out because it won't change reality or sway Wisconsin-only the real vote at the polls matters.

This is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read. What is the poll referencing, if he runs against Air? How can you he be ahead of anyone if nobody has decided to run against him. Huffington Post, try to run data with some substance, and not just to fill up space on your web page COPY.

The public unions interviewed 5 democrats last week.
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/137523178.html

And then ordered the Democratic party that Komrade Kathleen Falk will be the recall challenger.
http://www.wkow.com/story/16544540/sources-kathleen-falk-to-announce-candidacy-for-governor

Of course, the public unions ordered the frontrunner candidate - Mayor Tom Barrett, that he could not run with the Democratic party.
http://www.jsonline.com/watchdog/noquarter/2-unions-discourage-barrett-from-running-in-a-recall-053igi2-136173703.html

Since the public unions run the Wisconsin Democratic party now, the special election (if there is enough valid petitions) will be a landslide for Walker, because the few people who know Falk are only in Dane county. Their greed has blinded their reality, as usual.

I am interviewing for a job next week, doesn't going to mean I am going to be hired. I never heard of President Obama before he made the speech and the convention and I am from Chicago. Go figure! Your Govenor is a Punk who wears Women Panties and got your fooled. There is no, absolutely no evidence that union workers have any effect on the economy. When the economy slows, everybody can be laid off or get their hours reduced. Stop being a parrot and repeating what someone else says and do your homework, read a book or watch the History Channel. Higher wages paid by in any employer in the work sector drives up wages and keep the work environment competitive.

Of course they don't want Barrett. What is his campaign mantra going to be - "I saved Milwaukee $25 million in the city budget thanks to Governor Scott Walker's reforms?'
