Choreographer Jonah Bokaer collaborates with Miami native and visual artist Daniel Arsham for Why Patterns & Recess, two dance performance premieres at the Arsht Center. The set is designed by Arsham and his architectural design firm, Snarkitechure. Look for their sculptural work at the new Marlins stadium.

The legacy of singer-songwriter and career beach bum Jimmy Buffet is somewhat watered-down by his ever-growing Margaritaville brand and Cheeseburger in Paradise chain of restaurants. Purge the earworm of "Margaritaville" and images of bloated Parrotheads in Hawaiian shirts from your head by watching this 1975 video of Buffet and the Coral Reefer Band in their original form -- cocaine, beards, guitar riffs and all:

Tigertail and the Florida Dance Association present three works by Axis Dance Company, a troupe made up of able and disabled dancers. See them perform "The Narrowing" by Sebastian Grubb, "Light Shelter" by David Dorfman, and the Florida premiere of "Full of Words" by British choreographer, Marc Brew. Fort Lauderdale gallery Girls' Club is hosting a series of feminist chick flicks to coincide with their "Re-framing the Feminine" exhibit. This Saturday they'll screen Office Killer, a Cindy Sherman-directed film in which Molly Ringwald murderously flips out at work. Miami artist Jillian Mayer's Guggenheim-winning short "Scenic Jogging" will also screen.
