Rose Byrne SAG Awards 2012 Jumpsuit: Do Or Don't? (PHOTOS, POLL)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/29/2012 11:36 pm Updated: 01/29/2012 11:36 pm

Lace jumpsuits, as we have seen, are a tricky thing. They can be a gorgeous, bold, feminine fashion statement... or they can be an unflattering train wreck. (Camo jumpsuits, on the other hand? Never OK.)

So we were taken aback when Rose Byrne braved the SAG Awards red carpet in a white lace version. From Elie Saab's Fall 2009 couture collection, the onesie featured little cap sleeves, a plunging neckline and wide-legged pants.

Covered from top to bottom with sequins and crystal embellishments, the Elie Saab suit was a bold choice but fulfilled every red carpet requirement: it was eye-catching, glamorous, flattering, glittery and sexy.

Rose, who we adored in "Bridesmaids" and have been missing ever since, paired the jumpsuit with a sleek bob, which hairdresser Harry Josh described as "'70s inspired Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface meets Anna Wintour's bob." We'll take it.

From head-to-toe, Rose looked chic. But is a grown-up in one-piece garment ever OK -- and for the red carpet, no less?

All I can say is at least it's not orange, but her bangs are always slightly different. Sometimes they hit near the upper lash line sometimes they stop just above her eyebrows and when she walks in the wind the hair on the sides of her head swings in the breeze but those bangs don't move an inch. I think they're fake.

It might be for a new role, but that hair style on Rose is all kinds of wrong for her.

Why do they have to call it a onesie? When I hear onesie, I think of a baby onesie....

A gentle, consensual fingering...would it really be such a big deal?

This woman is beautiful and she made the outfit look stunning! If you want a truly repulsive adult onesie? Just watch for the tv ad for the "Forever Lazy" and then wonder to yourself "how close are we to becoming the blobs known as humans in Wall-E?

Actually, her hair made me wince more than the outfit. I barely noticed it.

I'm having a difficult time agreeing with these comments. The first glance makes the viewer think they're looking at Gumby's bride on her wedding day, while a closer look at her torso makes it appear that it's actually her back facing the camera and her head is photo-shopped onto her shoulders; seriously, her cleavage looks like the spot on your back that's located between your shoulder blades.

Very nasty comment. She is elegant.

I'm not usually partial to jumpsuits, but this was very flattering and feminine. Nice to see someone doing something different but still elegant.

The outfit is pretty, well-tailored with a great fit, but should have had a higher neckline which would not have made her look so short-waisted and flat.

The jumpsuit look elegantly beautiful and original to boot.

Onesie? Seriously, H P? Anything for a click, I guess.
