SAG Awards 2012: Jon Cryer Talks Ashton Kutcher Vs. Charlie Sheen On 'Two And A Half Men' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/29/2012 11:17 pm Updated: 01/30/2012 12:44 pm

"Two And A Half Men" star Jon Cryer definitely feels a difference on set since Ashton Kutcher replaced the hit sitcom's former star Charlie Sheen.

On the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night, he told E! that Kutcher is "great. He's a clown. He is up for anything, willing to do anything... a great, great spirit."

When E! host Giulianna Rancic asked if things felt differently on set in this post-Sheen era, Cryer -- who was nominated for his first SAG award -- took a bit of a jab at his former co-star. "It's a little less suspenseful being on the set nowadays," he said with a laugh. "When you come into work, you're pretty sure [Kutcher's] going to be there. And nobody's pushed his car off a cliff or anything like that"

As for Sheen, who is currently working on his FX series "Anger Management," Cryer said, "I haven't spoken with him though. I wish him well. He's got a good team around him and I can't imagine he's not going to put out a good show."

The problem is the show was never that funny to begin with. The only people on the show that were worth watching were not Cryer and not Sheen. They could have dumped both a long time ago. When I watch the reruns with Charlie, sometimes I smile, but there are no laughs, When I watch the new ones, also no laughs. It actually makes me think they should dump the writers too.

Isn´t somebody out there to give this phony, spineless popinjay,#JonCryer, a banana, for him to finally stuff his mouth on his own?! Geez! What the heck does charliesheen´s loss of his car have to do with the expanses of the show? Why is Jon trying to crack a joke, about Charlie´s personal misfortune? OMG, Jon actually behaves like Alan in real life

Cryer best watch what you say about Charlie. Some day you may be looking for a job, again. Charlie was the best on THM. I watched one episode with the new guy and never went back. Charlie never missed an episode, he may have been late, but he showed up.

I am so sick and tired of all these self serving award shows. How about they all just do their job and act. Maybe all the money being spent could go to help all those in need, The sad part is that it is the public putting these people on a pedestal

This show just isn't funny anymore without Sheen. Tried to watch a few episodes with Kutcher. It seemed Kutcher and Creyer were always ending up nude together. Guess its my homophobia but it appears to be a very gay show now and also complately lacks humor. I still watch the older version with Sheen and get 1 laugh a minute..but maybe 1 laugh the entire program when watching the Kutcher version! Oh well all good things must come to an end..even on TV

LOL. I was just gonna say that I`ve watched 7 or 8 new episodes and maybe laughed twice. You`ve gotten 1 per show. I missed a couple I guess. Anyways, I agree with 100%. It is just so juvenile & UNFUNNY.

I always loved Jon Cryer. But to bash Charlie Sheen is unforgiveable. Sheen made Jon who he is today. Jon was a nobody before two and a half men with C.S.. He was'nt in memorable movies like C.S. before two & a.h.m.Jon Cryer- You selfish, ungrateful bashtard. Jon-- --Remember how you got where you are today. You have mansions, cars, luxury vacations, all thanks to you know who.Two and a half men would not have lasted, if not for C.S.. Ass-ton Kut is a talentless hack.I'm surprised the show was'nt pulled after my Charlie left. To be fair, I saw first 2 episodes just to give it a chance. I could'nt stand it or Ass-ton.

sorry its not as funny with Sheen gone. I can't stand the new version with Kutcher. Maybe its my homophobia, but got tired of Kutcher and Creyer together in the few episodes I tried to stomach .Where they appeared nude ,especially the one with Creyer rseting his head on Kutcher's belly. I guess if you like gay comedies this is the one to watch.

Jon Cryer is probably happier now because instead of the show being mostly about him, now it's almost ALL about him - his character, the miserable Alan Harper. I don't watch the show any more. The first four or five episodes were enough for me.

I was hoping the new show with Kutcher was going to be good but it isn't. Ashton is just boring. Maybe it's the writers. Something's wrong. I hardly laugh at all when I watch it. I still laugh a lot when I watch the reruns with Charlie Sheen. Maybe Chuck Lorre should have been the one to go.

The Doors were less suspenseful without Jim Morrison

I think it is sad. I dont like the new show near as much. They keep taking "cheap shots at Charlie" and that is a real turn off. Im really disappointed to see his ex "coworker/not so much of a friend is so willing to stab Charlie in the back. Charlie is the one that made John known to us. Before this show I had never heard of him. He may have been in some movies....but I couldnt tell ya who he was...but I could Charlie.

John Cryer...good dude, however, Charlie Sheen made the 21/2 men show what it was, it was one of the best, I hate to say it but Jon boy you probably need to be looking for something new because Kutcher has ran this show in the ground, it is not funny anymore it is stupid, can Ashton actually act any oplder than 5???
05:41 PM on 01/30/2012
Two & a Half Men was more than a one man show. The entire cats made it what it was....from Charlie Sheen on down....including Melanie Lynsey as Rose. All of the gorgeous women who showed up on the show didn't hut either!!

Can't wait for Anger Management, does anyone know who's doing the casting for the female lead I heard Charlie in an interview say it hasn't been cast yet although they are down to 2 possibles..
