The Super Bowl is one of the biggest calorie-fests of the year for many Americans. Margarine, corn syrup, bread crumbs, sugar, honey, other starchy foods and "light" food-like substances, healthy? Not!

The reason for the Superbowl is the food. Here's one of mine: Grilled pizza, only not like Lagasse does it. If you put a pizza on the BBQ it will over-cook on the bottom and undercook on top.
The solution is to make your pizza then fold it over into a taco shape and apply butter, then place it on a big grill pan and grill one side then flip it and grill the other side cooking it all the way through. As you grill it, it rises up and the magic begins.
Cut this into wedges. The result is a crispy gooey slice of yum, trust me...Alfred-

Here's my fave for get togethers:

Healthy High-Protein Guacamole
3 ripe avocados
1 cup fat free Greek yogurt, plain
1 cup chunky salsa
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
Sqeeze of lime juice
Chipotle Tabasco, to taste
salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Mash the avocados and mix in the other ingredients. Warning: the color may be a bit off-putting, but the taste is divine!

GOOD LORD. The Super Bowl is one day a year... can we just have some greasy (i.e., DELICIOUS) snacks on that one day? JEEBUS.

These look like great recipes! I wanted to keep a healthy spread this Super Bowl Sunday and the zucchini fries look delicious :) Will have to try them with a few ideas from this list > http://www.skinnyscoop.com/list/Erin/healthy-super-bowl-party-snacks

I wonder how these recipes are categorized as "healthy". Please share your definition of healthy for us. All contain oil, sugar, meat, mayonnaise, corn syrup, etc. Switching a sweet potato for a white potato does not make something healthier when you're still stuffing it with bacon. I don't see a single healthy recipe here. Real health means eating organic fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds. It is the continuous perpetration of the deception that what you are presenting is "healthy" that has led to the obesity and health epidemics such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease among many other health issues we have in this country. Stop lying. If people want to eat unhealthy food, that's their choice, and if you want to provide recipes go right ahead, but stop calling them healthy when they are not.

I marked this as a favorite, although I disagree with you in some ways. Meat (even bacon) is not unhealthy. The sugar, starches, grains, and low-fat items are unhealthy.

This is a really good list - everything sounds really good to me. The pepper peanut brittle is an interesting idea - I sometimes make granola bars and put chili flakes in the binding part of it. Gives it a nice kick.

superbowl snacks aren't about being healthy. they should all be heavy dishes laden with cheese sauce!

I don't snack but make these for breakfast sometime. For those who do snack ,try these :

1/4 c Trader Joes Multigrain baking mix.
1/8 cup Bobs Oatmeal or whatever brand you like.
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 Tablespoon cold water.
2 Truvia packets
Cinnamon.
Mix all the dry ingrediets.
Mix in the oil, then water.
Roll out thin on a cutting board with whole wheat pastry flour.
Sprinkle some flour on the dough so it won't stick to the rolling pin.
Slice into pieces and place on a baking sheet. Top each slice with a walnut.
Bake for 8 minutes at 400 degrees.
Recipe can be doubled .

Hi Babybelle,
The recipe looks great, but I'm curious what they are. Is it more like a breakfast bar, a healthy cracker? I'd like to give it a try, and just not sure what category to think of them in. :) Thanks!

Abby, When I was a child and my Mom baked pies she would let me have the left over unbaked crust after she used what was needed for the pie. I always topped the scraps with cinnamon and sugar before we baked them.
This is my more healthy recipe for this pie crust dough. .
So I guess you can call them pie crust cookies ! LOL
I just call them yummy ! :)
I never cut them out fancy. They have jagged edges.

Abby I should have put to start out with a half tablespoon of cold water. Add more if you need it.
