Hapi Berth Dey: Luke Barats Figures Out How To Avoid Copyright Problems When Singing 'Happy Birthday' (VIDEO)

You know that charming part of copyright law that makes it hard or expensive to sing certain songs on camera? "Happy Birthday" is one of those songs, and Luke Barats of Barats and Bereta decided enough was enough.

He took matters into his own hands and found the tune of the song, which itself isn't copyrighted, and wrote a set of his own lyrics to go along with it.

He calls the tune "Hapi Berth Day" and we don't want to spoil anything for you, so we'll just say that it's creative.
