'Preacher Wives': TLC Orders New Religious Reality Show

TLC is taking audiences into the holy world of Atlanta's "Preacher Wives." The new reality series from TLC and True Entertainment, the producers of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," will follow the "outspoken ladies who work to ensure that their churches run as smooth as Southern-churned butter."

"We are excited to work with TLC to profile the lives of these strong-willed women," Steven Weinstock, president of True Entertainment, said in a statement. "With most praise in religious communities directed towards male preachers, we are thrilled to give these remarkable ladies the spotlight they crave and deserve."

In a press release, TLC said viewers will see the women at work with their congregations and balancing their busy church life with the family at home.

"Preacher Wives" joins a few new reality shows in the works at TLC. The network is also at work on a new show following Southwest Airlines.

"Air travel has become incredibly accessible, and as a result, millions of travelers navigate the challenges of the airport, especially during the upcoming holiday season," Amy Winter, GM of TLC, said in a statement. "Southwest is a beloved brand, and their customers and employees will reveal the passion, commitment, and fantastic payoff of 'getting there' that helps keep us all flying."

"Undercover Princes" and "Undercover Princesses" is also heading to the network.

If this show is like other "wives" shows, then there's going to be "mad drama," with women hating each other, showing off their wealth, gossiping, yelling, and picking on one another. It's going to make "the church" look worldly and messed up and make viewers think, "Why would I want to be a part of a church like THAT?"

ROMNEY OBAMA SHOWDOWN

Here i am as we progress during these republican primaries and hopefully we will stay on issues
and not skirt off toward personality issues,which really do not due any candidate any good,it's good
to know some issues about a person's past,or tax filings,but if their is really no issues it shouldnt dominate. What's important are ideas,in government,business,and anything else. Very often an opposition party such as the republicans,being out of power can pick up ideas from many areas,
and have some of their own,of the u.s. as nation based on its founding, Many of the ideas owe
their genesis to Romney so he is the best one who can articulate and support them,and he should
be the one to debate them in a presidential run with obama. Now that globalization is here the place of unions need to be debated...they will still exist but they will function in a different way...
they need to keep their members working,and also need to keep an eye on national interests.
It's a sign of the times. So Romney Obama finale is the nation's best best....florida should be interesting.

A Break from Romney...preacher wives

Here we are amidst the election when and i've taken a break to enjoy
the day here in california,a nice day,and i dont know about atlanta but preacher wives interests me.
I recall once I was invited and i have known people from various christian denominations,but a preacher's wife is a full time job. She must help run the church meet people carry on conversations be knowledgeable about the affairs of the church,be a good christian and practice fellowship with all the various people of the church as well as witness to gospel truths. A very difficult job and in this media age her job is more complicated. She receives little thanks,is burdened in many ways,and on this occasion,and on this occasion with my previous wife and the
preacher's wife present the first thing she did was crack some jokes and led me into dining area
and i had a long talk with the husband,enjoying italian food and servings,and great hospitality
and good conversation,fun and good times and religion. This by the way was with a group of
philipinno baptists,and we enjoyed the best of fellowship and witness,and good times, organized by the preacher wife. Hospitality to a stranger
my wife was really there friend but they entertained me a stranger. Although I would have like to
have seen their dogs! However the old pauline dictum,we come to bring joy,is something we
should all experience in fellowship,it should never be onerous but lighthearted.

As a future "preacher's wife," let me just say that my life is not going to look as you describe. I will define my roles, boundaries, and participation, not anyone else. Thank God I'm in a denomination that understands that, for the most part. Also, thanks for all the preacher's husbands out there also working to break down these backwards and constrictive roles prescribed for us.

I wonder if they will include the DROVES of "Preacher wives" that got DUMPED for a YOUNGER model and then were treated as if they were invisible, or brushed aside, or kicked out of the church, or "shunned" so they left quietly??
