Bishop Eddie Long, Megachurch Pastor Accused Of Sex Abuse, Declared A 'King' At Recent Church Service (VIDEO)

Eddie Long, the embattled pastor of an Atlanta megachurch, has always been showy in his pulpit demeanor. But will the ever-defiant pastor soon don a crown and wield a scepter?

In a service last weekend at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, Long was proclaimed as royalty by Ralph Messer, a visting speaker. “He’s a king. God’s blessed him. He’s a humble man. But in him is kingship. In him is royalty,” Messer said over Long, to applause from New Life congregants. “In him was a land of Israel. In him was a k chromosome...he was brought through the slaves, raised up in a city and God now wants to release a new anointing.”

Long was then wrapped in scrolls, raised aloft by four men, and paraded about the stage to raucous applause.

According to Messer's website, Messer "teaches the Hebrew Roots of the Christian Faith, fulfilling the great commission to "..make disciples of all the nations," and is "pioneering a work to bring the 'Good News' of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) in the Torah to the ends of the earth."

Long recently returned to the pulpit following a leave of absence. ln December, he stepped down from his role as head pastor, shortly after his wife filed for divorce and amid allegations that he sexually abused several teenage churchmembers over a period of years. The church's school, New Birth Christian Academy, was slated to close down after the Christmas break because of economic troubles. But the academy entered into an agreement with another local school, and reopened in January.

OMG, Ralph Messer says he performed the ceremony of crowning Rev. Eddie Long a king in order to teach "the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith" to the predominately Black 8,000-member congregation of Long's New Birth church (Atlanta, GA) who had, according to Messer, "renounced vows of Voodoo, Obeah and Juju"! LOL, the man who declared Rev. Long a king stereotypes Long's flock as ex-followers of Voodoo, Obeah & Juju! Wow!

As a Christian I deem this behavior and thought process to be completely moronic and distasteful. This is brain washing at its best (or worst?). None of this in no way shape or form has anything to do with Christianity. This is one church's misguided and delusional interpretation and belief that is so totally outside of anything that is in Bible as to be just completely confusing and frankly...pure evil. Bishop Long will have to answer for leading his flock astray but each of those who willingly follow after man worship will reap the consequences of their willful ignorance. The Bible is available for each person to read for themselves and this foolishness is simply NOT in there.

I Just don't get it...

How can the man who settled out of court with four men who said they were assaulted by their spiritual father be wrapped in a tallis, lifted on high in his throne like chair and exalted as if he were Christ the Redeemer himself.

Michael Jackson went to his grave with many believing in their heart of hearts the King of Pop was a boy booty toucher, yet a pastor whose influence is almost as pervasive as the man in mirror can settle out of court and be crowned King by another religious group. Is that what makes religious royalty these days: catching a case? Excuse me while I lose grip on my New King James.

The Scroll Is A Fraud....If You look there is scotch tape on the back side of the scrolls. He would not have been able to bring it into the US without proper documentation, and Authentication of the piece, only an Idiot would share something like this without it being insured. You mean to tell me that Vanna White has her legs insured for several millions of Dollars, but they cannot find even a museum to insure it, store it, and or display it. 312 years old???? I could understand its value if it was positively linked to Jesus, but it is not...it is based on stories of folklore. 312 years ago??? Paper was available by then, and more affordable then 9 Lamb skins. Without proper controlled cold and dry storage, the scroll would be light to medium brown and VERY Brittle. Rabbinical Law was broken in this story. The Torah, is tainted if touched or carried by the hands or feet of a human...I find this Clip to be very suspicious. This is why I have very little faith in organized religion. I believe in God, and though sad, and unfortunate, I have no faith in the Politics of Religion.
