We were sad to learn that Emma Roberts and Chord Overstreet decided to call it quits, but according to new reports a break up might have been for the best.
Us Weekly is reporting Roberts, 20, did everything possible to ice out her 22-year-old boyfriend. Sources tell the magazine Roberts didn't didn't seem to think very highly the "Glee" star, belittling him for months. "She acts like he's really dumb," says a source who added she even makes fun of him to his face.
According to the magazine, Roberts had been dropping less-than-subtle hints that she wasn't interested in the pouty-lipped actor, telling him he didn't need to spend New Year's Eve with her and outright ignored him at public events. Sources claim Emma hasn't been playing nice and even left Chord waiting outside at the CAA Golden Globes after-party, ignoring his text messages to come get him at the door.
The pair was first linked together in April 2011 and their romance picked up over the summer -- spotted having a blast together at Disneyland, taking strolls along Malibu beach and cozying up at Hollywood hotspots.
Although sources told Just Jared that Emma and Chord are "just on two different paths in life," claiming "they just grew apart and decided to part ways," Emma's alleged mean girl act makes the reason for the split much clearer.
For his part, Chord seems to be doing alright and looking forward to the future. On Jan. 31 he tweeted, "Dream with my eyes open Sleep when I'm dead Love who my hearts chosen Conquer what lies ahead," which apparently comes from the words written by and tattooed on Hot Chelle Rae band member Ryan Follese.
