Jennifer Lawrence 'Hunger Games' Injury: Star Ran Into A Wall During Training

Jennifer Lawrence Almost Burst Her Spleen During 'Hunger Games' Training

For at least one day, it seemed like the odds weren't in Jennifer Lawrence's favor. (GROAN, right?) On the last day of her training for "The Hunger Games," Lawrence ran into a wall -- literally -- and almost suffered some major internal injuries.

"I had to do 10 'wall runs,' where you run at the wall as hard as you can to get traction," Lawrence -- who plays Katniss Everdeen, teen huntress and Hunger Games upstart in "Games" -- told The Hollywood Reporter. "I ran at it and my foot didn't go up, so I caught the wall with my stomach. My trainer thought I had burst my spleen. I had to get a CAT scan and go into a tube where they put this fiery liquid in your body."

Thankfully for "Hunger Games" fans, Lawrence was just bruised and production was able to go off without a hitch. Not that filming "Games" didn't offer other complications. The cast and crew had to compete with 100-degree weather, drenching rainstorms and even bears. 300 of them, reportedly, that lived in the woods where "Games" was shot.

Based on the mega-popular book series by Suzanne Collins, "The Hunger Games" -- the first of four planned films -- arrives on March 23.
