Did Reese Witherspoon insult Justin Bieber before quickly realizing it probably wasn't a good idea?

When asked what she thought of rumors that Bieber might star in a remake of the 1996 thriller, "Fear," (which starred Witherspoon and Mark Wahlberg) she appeared a little caught off guard.

"Fine. Great. That would be cool," she said. "Would he be playing me or Mark Wahlberg?"

The 35-year-old actress immediately started giggling but quickly tried to move past the small dig at the teenage popstar. She went on to clarify, saying it would be believable if he had a crazy fan after him.

"Is it like a girl who harasses the family, like a stalker who can't leave him alone? That would be good," she said. "I mean girls get crazy about him."

We admit we can't really see Bieber, 17, taking on Wahlberg's role as a psychotic stalker who terrorizes his girlfriend and her family.

Despite the remark, Reese went on to say she's a fan of the singer.

"He's very talented," she said. "I didn't know much about him until I saw the documentary ["Never Say Never"] and I thought that was really worthwhile and worth seeing, and it made me think, 'What a sweetheart.'"

WOW she doesn't seem to have any filters in her head. She ragged about Robert Pattinson after doing a movie with him. Honestly where does she get off putting anyone down. She really is nothing special. She needs to do some major maturing.

That's actually a pretty funny quip. And let's face it, he does look like a teenaged girl.

And what are you?

One slight comment about Bieber's oft-commented feminine features makes her a "b#*@h"? Your standards are pathetically high.

That's not a diss. She's talking about the character role. Is he going to play the antagonist(Mark Character) or the pacifist(Reese Character) Man... media really likes to create drama.

I know, right? There has to be someone out there smart enough to think of a couple new plot twists, or at least have enough imagination to call it "Terror" instead.

We have seen a lot worse slide down the teen idol pipe than this kid... but Reese did have a point. I saw Mr. Bieber try and play a bad guy on some TV show (Monk?) and I wasn't buying it at all. Hard to be a heavy when you are prettier than most girls.

i lol'd when i read is he playing me or mark wahlberg.. but seriously, reese, just say it how it is, stop lying, he has no talent, hes just popular amongst the pedo and tween markets, ie, they are buying their fantasy with a little underdeveloped boy lol

she's got a sharp tongue. i recall her saying that doing a scene with robert pattinson in "water for elephants" was digusting because he had a cold and she was grossed out. she had to walk back the comments, but the damage was done.

she ha a right to her opinion, but i think that the comment was unnecessary.

So, this forgettable movie was made in the 90s and it is going to get a remake? Is hollywood that desparate?
09:06 AM on 02/02/2012
It's the teenager's dollar that dictates who has the best music. Most adults don't go to concerts or buy many recordings.
