Beyonce On 'The X Factor'? Simon Cowell Reportedly Offers Her Millions

Beyonce X Factor

If your coffers are as well-stacked as Simon Cowell's, you might as well reach for the stars. Rumor has it that the 'X Factor' proprietor has offered Beyonce an astounding $500 million to join the show as a judge.

Nothing is confirmed and the number feels too high to be believed, but MediaTakeout claims their source is well-placed within Cowell's camp. For his part, reality TV's Grinch-in-chief is said to be desperate to breathe new fire into the show.

As soon as news of this week's 'Factor' shakeup broke, the Twitterverse exploded in a smattering of rumors. Over the past few days, Beyonce, Perez Hilton and Mariah Carey have risen to the top of the rumor crop.

Fox's firing of Paula Abdul is particularly interesting, given that sources are whispering that the longtime "Idol" and "Factor" judge was removed for being too easy on contestants. Given that Hilton has made his new career out of being nice and neither Beyonce nor Mariah Carey are known as particularly acerbic personalities.

All of this is, of course, without mention of the fact that Beyonce and Jay-Z are new parents. While Jay-Z may be content releasing songs about daughter Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce hasn't given any indication that she's either willing or ready to take on such a high profile gig.

Regardless, it's abundantly clear that the show is going through a major, make-or-break reset. The pressure's on for Cowell, who walked away from "American Idol" and bet his American TV career on "The X Factor," poaching Abdul and effectively crippling the nation's most popular television show.

true simon is way better in the American Idol format, i mean most of the times the dude was biased and focused on attacking fellow judges but thats just Human, i personally think that the entire X factor format is a gumble. seriously you can't mentor and judge at the same time if you are to bring objectivity in the contex i personally think Simon should read this comment and revamp his show. in East Africa we have a show called Tusker Project Fame, this show has their independent Judges doing what they understand OBJECTIVELY and the mentors. so in each show we have the mentors on one table and the judges, though the mentors are the ones to save an act in case of a possible eviction

Five-hundred million is of course, too big a figure but I wish someone would offer her that to take her Harlem accent and stay out of public the rest of her life. "Renting" a hospital wing and jettisoning parents anxious to see their children turns my stomach and so does she. Turned me against her for life. I'm tired of seeing her gums when she smiles too.

She has definately had a very long 15 minutes. i will not watch this show if she will be judging. the concentration should be on the contestants not celebrity judges. simon you should have left paula, kicking nicole to the curb was the right decision. you are better off getting somebody like celine dion, you need a mature older female to judge, not two squabbling imature females who think they are still teenagers.

if this happens i will DEFINATELY NOT WATCH!

Just because you have talent, doesn't mean you can judge talent! That's why Simon Cowell is such a great judge. He knows talent when he hears it and he doesn't put up with the teary eyed no-talents that show up. (Ditto Randy Jackson who happens to be a great bass guitarist in his own right but doesn't judge that talent.) It's also why Paula Abdul and Jennifer Lopez are such lousy judges! Beyonce would fall into the latter group!

Our culture is out of control. 500 million??? I'm sickened by this so called offer and all the rest of the inbalances in our economy. This all is going to explode on everybody's heads one day.
Millions upon millions of hard working people are trying to get by on 25k 35k. I see them in the stores in my area for example-they are miserable. Then Beyonce gets what 500 million. And Hollywood actors get 20,000,000 for one film. It's NUTZ.

Salukeitis, I agree with you 100%. And, how about the enormous salaries being paid to people who play sports. Things have totally gotten out of control. I guess they need the money to support all their mansions and lifestyle. Many people want a decent paying job and they are nowhere to be found. I will never watch the XFactor. Quite frankly, I think the show is going through a major make-or-break reset.

No matter who he gets; the show would still suck. Nobody wants to watch Beyonce; she is too stuck on herself.

Totally agree I definitely won't tune in with that snob as a judge.

If you have ever heard Beyonce talk, to me she is like the R & B/POP Mitt Romney. There seems to be an unsettling level of being super scripted, and I feel a certain coldness emanating from her

Okay, it's just an 'average' offer, but it still stands.

The problem with Simon on the X Factor is that when he mentors, he coddles as well so most of his acerbic criticisms are aimed at his opposing judges contestants. His babying of his own was a bit over-the-top. I, frankly, couldn't stand the structure of X Factor. After the mess with the Crow girl melting down, it became particularly repulsive. Cowell is much better in a format like American Idol.
12:03 PM on 02/03/2012
I agree with you for the most part. I think the Rachel Crowe meltdown was more due to her age....how can we expect a 14 year old to handle rejection on such a large scale? Astro had a immature response too....he was I think only 14 also. They are young. They shouldn't be expected to handle the pressure. I think the main problem was that the judges constantly bickered and were competing with each other. The focus was then taken away from the singers. When Nicole Scherzinger couldnt make a decision, she voted against Rachel so that America could decide. There was so much "build up" by this point, the let down was then so great. For next season, the should only let the non-mentor judges decide on that particular singer. That then solves the problem of a tie and also eliminates the grief of a judge needing to vote against his or her own singer, something none of the judges could do anyway, so the point was moot.

I realize that she's "successful," but she's NOT a good singer. At ALL. She's constantly out of key, over-singing and her music is the worst sort of disposable pop garbage... WHY Simon? WHY?

I agree she stinks Jennifer Hudson showed her up so bad in dream girls it was embarrassing!
